🚨 Testers Wanted! 🚨

TWSM10-Feature.jpg

The new Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges were released in March of this year and have been a popular addition to many golfers' bags since. We are looking for four golfers to test, review, and keep a set of Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges.

About The Vokey SM10 Wedges

MyGolfSpy Staff member Tony Covey has a complete breakdown of the new SM10 wedges here , which is a must-read, but the shorter version is Vokey SM10 is focused on three key elements: versatility, distance control, and trajectory, and maximizing spin. The Vokey SM10 lineup has six different grind options for a total of 25 different loft, bounce, and grind options.

This includes the M Grind that had previously only been available through WedgeWorks and T Grind that has also made its way to the retail market. The other options that a golfer must choose from are the finish, and the SM10 has three of them: Tour Chrome, Jet Black, and the new addition Nickel.

There’s more though; the Vokey SM10 has refined the shape and CG placement to help optimize distance control and trajectory. This works in tandem with their spin-milled grooves that have groove geometry that varies depending on the loft to maximize spin for each loft.

Titleist Wedge Selector Tool

Of course, all of this can be a lot to take in, so Titleist offers an online Wedge Selector Tool to help simplify things. It is a series of eight questions which gather various information about your current setup and game to help make the best recommendation on what setup would be best for you. To try it yourself, go here!

What Is Being Tested?

As previously mentioned, we are looking for four golfers to test, review, and keep a set of Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges. We want you to tell us how they perform in real-world conditions and play. Importantly, we also want to know how the Wedge Selector Tool works and if the recommendations are what you would normally expect.

The selected testers will go through a Titleist Fitting for their wedge set and see how it compares to the results from the Wedge Selector Tool.

Think you are the right golfer to participate in this test?

Below are your recommended SM10 Wedges!

Vokey recommends 4°-6° of loft separation between wedges in order to narrow yardage gaps, reducing the need to hit half wedge shots. This along with the information you have provided has combined to provide the below recommendations.

50° Gap Wedge
F Grind - Bounce 08
The F grind is an all-purpose grind that is particularly suited for full shots and shots hit with a square face. Ideal for players who prefer a traditional wedge sole. The F grind is the most played sand wedge on the PGA Tour.

54° Sand Wedge
D Grind - Bounce 12
The D Grind is the player?s high bounce wedge. High measured bounce with the crescent shape of the M grind is ideal players with a steeper angle of attack who play with a variety of clubface positions.

60° Lob Wedge
D Grind - Bounce 12
The D Grind is the player?s high bounce wedge. High measured bounce with the crescent shape of the M grind is ideal players with a steeper angle of attack who play with a variety of clubface positions.

Currently using SM9 52.08F and 58.12D. Would love to see how these stack up. Also would be interested in seeing how a 'wedge' PW differs from my iron set PW.

Not the wedges for me, and I don’t have the time to do a proper evaluation in any case. That said; what a great opportunity for somebody in the forum! I’ll be an interested reader.

The sm8 are great, I’m happy to see what improvements they made.

It was interesting to see a different recommendation this time around.

This would be a great opportunity to compare with PXG Sugar Daddy Wedges!!

54° Sand Wedge
S Grind - Bounce 10
The S Grind is a design based on feedback from Titleist brand ambassador Steve Stricker. It is best for square faced shots with a touch more versatility than the F grind. Simple mechanics are best with this wedge.

60° Lob Wedge
M Grind - Bounce 08
The M Grind, Voke?s favorite, is designed for players that like to rotate the club face open and close to manufacture shots around the green. Ideal for players with a shallower, more sweeping swing type who play shots from a variety of clubface positions.

Awesome opportunity! Love the customization options. Really enjoy my current wedges but this would be too good off an opportunity to pass up!

Would love love LOVE to give these a shot. i have vokeys that are probably 10 years old (maybe more?), the original SM (version 1).  Never been fit and always unsure if i was using the right ones.  I've gapped with a 56 and a 60 rather than 54 and 60 so wondering about that given the recommendations below.

What a great opportunity to test these wedges! I've played just about every generation of Vokeys going back to the late 90's when I first started playing, and I love the consistent performance and innovation that continues to come with each new generation!

Been playing TM MG wedges for a few years and never did any research into bounce or other specs. Would love to try something that is actually fitted for me.

The Wedge Selector Tool picked the extact lofts, grinds, and bounces in my currently. Would be interesting to see if a wedge fitting would back this up!
