Titleist has introduced the GT Drivers and fairways, signifying Generational Technology, marking a significant shift in materials, construction, and performance from their previous TS models. Despite appearances suggesting minimal change, substantial advancements lie beneath the surface.

Titleist's goal was to enhance performance without altering the familiar look and feel. This approach ensures that players have a familiarity with their clubs year over year while hopefully experiencing performance gains. The GT models feature refined aerodynamics, with changes focused on the underside to reduce drag and increase speed, notably through the raised aft section.

Tony Covey and Chris Nickel have done full breakdowns and articles on both the drivers and fairway woods which can be found here drivers) and here (fairway woods). Here is a brief overview to whet your appetite.

The New GT Line

The introduction of Split Mass Construction redistributes weight to the driver’s perimeter, enhancing stability and optimizing performance. Additionally, the GT lineup incorporates a seamless thermoform composite crown, marking a departure from previous designs. This innovative crown integrates a Proprietary Matrix Polymer (PMP), improving acoustics and mimicking the sound of titanium.

The GT drivers emphasize lowering the center of gravity, promoting consistent spin rates and enhancing forgiveness. Titleist’s Speed Ring with Variable Face Thickness (VFT) face technology aims to boost speed across the face, catering to off-center hits.

Titleist offers three GT driver models models (GT2, GT3, GT4) and two GT fariway wodo models (GT2 and GT3)

Each model maintains a familiar look but with significant improvements in speed, consistency, and overall performance. Titleist's approach ensures that while much has evolved, the essence of the driver remains unchanged, catering to both average golfers and Tour pros. The new GT family embodies the philosophy of advancing technology without compromising the core attributes that define Titleist drivers.

The Testing Opportunity

We are searching for four golfers to test, review and keep a GT driver and fairway wood from Titleist. Testers will be fit through a Titleist certified fitter and will receive the clubs which they are fit for.

Titleist has made some bolder claims with this line, and the name indicates this is a big leap forward. So can it be true? We want to see how this new line performs in the hands of our members and everyday golfers.

My dream set would be the GT2 line in driver and then 3,5,7 woods. I have been playing long irons and the contact is so hit or miss for me. Fiarway and hybrid always seem to swing really well.

Had an old Titliest TS2 but sadly it cracked in half in a MN dome during the winter. Would be a great replacement!

Awesome Opportunity. I have a TS2 Driver and have tried to replace it a few times (Stealth, TSR2 and TSR3), but couldnt find anything to beat my current set up. Have been waiting for this to come out so I could get fit and hopefully make the upgrade. Included the 3 wood to see what it would look like, but my heart is set on one of these new drivers.

This would be my ultimate upgrade dream set. I have been playing with starter clubs for the past 4 years and have finally gotten my driver and irons figured out. I have more consistent strikes with my driver and am good with (not totally figured out) my 3 wood.

I have recently been fitted at my local Dick's for a new set of irons and was going to upgrade my driver/wood/hybrids after a second fitting. Getting fitted by a Titleist specialist would put my mind at ease when it comes to this new set. It's the right way to do it even if the clubs do come with the testing. If I was going to spend that kind of money, I would 100% get fitted by a Titleist certified fitter.

Good luck to all and hope the winners enjoy their new clubs. I look forward to reading all about them!

This is unreal opportunity. As the current Ottawa Citizen City golf championships A flight champ, I would put these to good work with trackman to get most accurate comparison.
currently with the ts3 driver and tsi3 3wood it would be amazing to compare.

I have to laugh a bit to myself about the cost of these. The driver is more than my entire bag, but that's just the price point these days.

Going straight GT2 down the line. Played a TSR2 16.5 for a while before the airlines sent it to an early grave and man, was I bummed. I went to a TSR3 15 and have eventually gotten to hitting it pretty well, but I found it's just easier to get the ball in the air with the #2 models. Figured if it's a chance to build a dream set of metals, might as well finally get that 7 wood in the bag
