  1. changing to the 45” from the 45.5” has been a game changer. The driver is a weapon again!
  2. Thanks. I have the +4 grip on the driver and relaxing my grip does help. I still struggle to close the face on the driver but it’s the only club I struggle with.
  3. Looking for some help. I have a neutral ball flight with all of my clubs except with the driver. To hit the driver well I need to take a stronger grip and shut the face a little in the setup. With this setup I can hit good drives with a slight fade. The problem is this feels awkward and I fear the hook. I’m looking for a driver with a slight draw bias so I don’t need to change my setup. My last three drivers: Cobra LTDx, Stealth, and Sim2. Thanks for the help.
  4. Now I’ve tried it at 44”, 44.5”, and 45”. For me the best, by far, is 45” with a swing weight of D-3. Average length, dispersion, and strike location on the face were the best. It was worthwhile to take the time and work through the different options.
  5. Ok, I haven’t shortened my driver yet but I’ve been gripping down about one inch. It’s tightened up center of face contact and shot the shape has become more consistent. Still two things I need to look into. First, I haven’t added any weight to the head, so it feels a little lighter. If I do cut it down, I’ll play around with the swing weight. Second, I don’t know if it’s costing me any distance. I’m hoping to get on trackman tonight. So hopefully I’ll have some answers soon.
  6. That’s a good idea. I think I’ll start with taping the grip.
  7. I’ve been thinking about trying a shorter shaft in my driver. I’m playing a Cobra LTDx at 9 degrees with a Hzrdus Blue in X flex. It plays at 45”. I tend to hit it high on the face. I’m looking for more consistent contact and control. Who’s been playing a shorter driver? Is anyone playing a driver at 43.5” to 44.5”? Did your contact improve? Did you lose any distance?
  8. I’ve been thinking about trying a 5 hybrid to replace my current 5 iron. I’m playing an Apex 19 with a loft of 23.5. I can carry it about 180 with a total distance of 195. The problem is a shallow flight making it difficult to hold greens. Has anyone tried a 24 degree hybrid and was it worth changing?
