  1. Dew Sweeping at Monterey CC ...par'd a couple holes and then went on a double boggey tear. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  2. I have had good fortune getting old taped ones off. If they plug the shaft with some tape originally and the air can get trapped, most will come right off. You can also spray some acetone based degreaser up in there prior to blowing. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  3. Finally, for the first time in my golfing life, I will have the same grip and size on each club in the bag. The 3 wedges do have the complimentary wedge grip from Ping. I used a grip gauge to be sure all grips are the same thickness. 3 wraps plus 2 under the lower hand. Standard yellow code Ping Dylagrips. All blown on with air compressor and quality build up tape from Golfworks. Gearing up for my first golf league in a week. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  4. So I wanted to follow up and share I took into account the advice above and headed over to 2nd Swing for a putter fitting. I ended up having about the right length putter for was needing g to be fit for at least a slight arc. I was fit into a slightly used Ping Tyne 4. It sports the adjustable shaft if I change my set up. Overall pleased with the experience it was free with purchase and or $75. Thanks again for the feedback all. 5. Cnosil I greatly appreciate your advice and the resources you shared. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. I also found that Maltby has good resources and the putting tune up may be just what I need. http://ralphmaltby.com/putter-tune-up-procedure-worksheet/ Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. Well here is what I am thinking... 1. Capture static measurements ie knuckles to floor, angles of shaft to floor etc. using a buddy and V1 video. I have a giant protractor from carpentry stuff as well. 2. Try and capture 2-3 angles of slow mo video of my stroke. 3. Try and capture up close video of impact and also use impact tape together. 4. Demo the three putters I have laying around, blade, mid mallet, and mallet. If possible come up with a way to take some of this to Dick's for testing new putters. 8. Lately I've been obsessing over how to fit myself for my putter of course I could pay $100 and go to a fitter down in Washington DC and use all the fancy equipment and figure this out. But between time and money I'm taking a stab at it myself. I want to get this thread started to document any and all of that work I am going to do to try and figure this out. I also want to welcome advice or comments from others that have tried to figure out the correct putter tight for their stroke correct length correct lie and so on. To get the ball rolling...bada bing ! I thought I'd post this ridiculous video I just made of myself in slow-mo using my harmonica holder that I use while playing guitar this is just a first shot at trying to document somehow my stroke path. Alas I can only post a picture of this. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  9. I saw this write up today and thought of that nice CAD work above. Basically looks like the same quality to me. usatoday.com: Check the yardage book: TPC Sawgrass Players Stadium Course. https://golfweek.usatoday.com/gallery/check-the-yardage-book-tpc-sawgrass-players-stadium-course/ Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  10. I comend you guys for jumping on the ladies equipment review train. My wife doesn't golf yet but I know if she did she would appreciate y'all's thoughtful reviews. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. This me all the time with my wife. Not the PGA part but whatever scoring goal I am on. Lol Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. Much better weather today. Played a solid 53 on the front 9. Made some good shots obviously missed others. Getting comfortable with my new hybrid. Poolesville Golf Course was looking good for March. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  13. This is awesome ! Off topic, yes I sm intentionally trying to keep the ball in play to eliminate giving up so many strokes. I do intend to start stretching that back out as I get more competent off the tee. Essentiually as I get under 100 regularly and am trying to break 90 I think I will need to add distance back. Back on Topic, great use of CAD !
  14. Here is an example... Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. I think the best you could do in the Grint would be to manipulate the tee box location to one side of the fairway and move the target to the otherside. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. I don't mind playing along and helping where I can. I have started 5 days a week yoga and could add an element of this to a routine. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  17. I have done some trial and error with Google Earth but discovered that the Grint has a GPS Flyover tool that you can adjust targets and shot origins for each hole of a course and have found that easier. You can also auto choose which tee to start from.
  18. I wanted to see or hear from folks how they carry, process, prepare data for a round. I know I lean towards offline basics but also like my Grint app as well. Below is my current "yardage book". I keep a game plan on the left and hope to add club distances soon to that sheet. On the right is my mobile with the Grint opened for GPS. I like using the wallet style case as I feel it hides the mobile and makes it feel intentional for golf. I switch it back to my standard case after the round. 19. That is Worthington Manor, it is the closest course, 2.8 mi, from my house. It is often a US Open Qualifier, I drive by it everyday on the way to day care. I committed to keeping the driver in the bag most of the day and that part of the plan worked. I instead found a lot more sand than during my usual rounds at "easier" courses. You can tell that between the tee and the green was quite an adventure for me out there. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. First full round since the snow finally melted. Took on a well thought of course nearby that I usually overlook because it can be pricey. It was windy and cold but sunny. Good day out working on think box/play box. Also first course I went into with a plan ahead of time after gps flyovering the holes. High score but proud of some good shots out there. Hit 67 percent fairways and had 5 one putts on the back 9. Score was still crazy high @ 121 but I left 19 strokes in bunkers and lost balls. Trusting the process.... 21. when I was testing out shoes last month I found the Adidas to have one of the most comfortable toe boxes nice and wide but not too wide. I ended up with ecco shoes but I would say the Addidas were a close second Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  22. I enjoy most all what I have read so far but for me I would love to see: Forgiving wedges/dtc club reviews Utility Club v. Hybrid reviews Affordable Rain Gear comparisons Affordable/Budget tech... All of it [emoji846] Training Aids Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  23. As my wife said my new bag still just feels like me as far as style and I'm glad I held out for the new color combinations in 2021 I like the more muted Navy lettering on teal with gray trim it's not quite as loud as some other contemporary bags. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  24. Well folks after a decent amount of classic golf spy discernment I ended up staying with Ping after having the same brand and bag since I was about 14 it was time for an upgrade and I went with this year's winner for best stand bag. I will follow up with an actual review on the other thread after I get a chance to put this thing through its paces and walk a few rounds. Sent from my Pixel 4 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  25. I have been thinking on this more and it has struck me that as a walking golfer I rarely buy the cart when the fee is separate but, I would certainly consider adding a Mevo to my round for $20 so that I could gain data. For all the walkers out there this could be a way to re-capture some of that revenue. Although I understand walkers are the minority. I think also adding LM's at course is very scalable compared to the 40-80k for a seasonal full scale simulator. A course can start with one or two and see if they get rented. Particulalry 9 hole executive courses which are prone to practice rounds could see a decent amount of LM use. For me $50 per hour at a near by course with a great simulator setup and atomosphere is just too much for an hour of data. More data means better fittings in the future. I also really support fitters who provide Arccos or Shot Scope with the fitting so that they can track and see how the fit is going. I would require that of a fitter if I was ever to do a full scale boutique fitting of my whole bag.
