  1. I use a U510 2I and it is my favorite club. It's what I hit from most tees and will often hit for long second shots. I usually get 210-240 yards off the tee with a good strike dependent on roll out. Interestingly that club also has my longest recorded tee shot at 285 yards (with the wind at gamble sands, just crested a hill and got all the roll). I rally have no complaints as I find it easier to hit than either my 3H (which tbh I hate and will probably replace next season with a 3I, excited to try the U-505) or my 3-Wood. Shaft wise I use the Tensei AV Raw White 90S, I absolutely love it but a lot of my friends are not huge fans because it is a very inactive shaft. For adde context i'm a high handicapper (~36) and fairly tall (I play it +1.5 inches).
  2. I'm a new golfer (1 year), physically pretty large (I use +1.5 inch irons). Earlier this week I got fitted for a new driver after my previous one cracked on a tee shot. I don't have an especially fast swing speed, 90-100 range with the driver. After the fitting I ended up ordering the club with a 75g shaft instead of the 65 which was what the fitter and I both thought would be the correct weight. The reason for this is when I tried a heavier shaft it slowed down my admittedly to fast tempo. With the 65 I felt like the club just wanted to go fast where on the 75 I felt much more in control. I know I'm giving up some swing speed, but I think its a trade worth making. I was wondering if any other moderate speed players, maybe with overly aggressive swings, have found the same thing as me?
  3. That putter is so cool! Now I have another putter to go search for in addition to a milled 8802.
  4. I'm from Vancouver so I go up to BC quite a bit! Will need to check out Mt Vernon
  5. I really like them! They have a nice clean bounce and the ball feels great off the face. I think they are not the spiniest but there is enough there. I was a bit nervous about the one ledge wedges but now that i've got them and had time to practice full shots feel very natural and pitching feels great once you grip down a bit.
  6. I started golf last year and the new clubs I ordered in October finally arrived! I did a fitting and the ONE Length were definite winners for me. I'm around 6'6 and don't have the best back so even playing with my old +1 inch variable set was not pleasant, now there is no swinging club below 39 inches and I absolutely love it! My driver shaft broke last round (I don't want to talk about it), luckily my buddy recently got a new shaft and he was nice enough to give me his old Ping 60 stiff. I had already mentally committedited to wanting a new driver (stiffer shaft, lower loft) so the M6 will likely be replaced soon. Full bag makeup is in my signature, I was just (as I'm sure is the point of this sub forum) excited to share!
  7. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Been playing for a year, handicap is 42.5. My current goal is to play a round under 100 What do you love about golf? The fact that the game is fair and I can constantly push my self to do better. Scratches the same itch as games like celeste and super meat boy What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Mostly for reviews as I've been filling out my bag. Also really enjoy no puts given Where are you from? What is your home course? I'm from Vancouver, BC but live in Seattle Washington. My home course is probably Interbay, a local par-3 course. I'm there multiple times a week either for the range or to play a round. In terms of 18 holes I would probably call Auburn Golf Course my home course. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best Thing: If you are willing to put up with a bit of chilly weather you can play around all year round. Worst Thing: Frequent rain and unreliable weather forecast means you can often not be sure if you are going to be able to play until the day before. What do you do for a living? Software Engineer How’d you pick your user name? Nothing special, play on my name. Been using it for years.
