  1. Hmmm. not sure why it isn't showing at the top of the page for you... but here it is:
  2. Pulled the trigger on the PLB in L flex, should arrive by the end of the week, then another few days of tipping, weighting and gripping... should have it in play in a few weeks. A fun "winter season" project and experiment.

Let's try to break that record in Week 4. Week 3 saw a net 9 under par round, two rounds with 10 net birdies or better and a 6 drives over 300 yards.. KEEP IT GOING EVERYONE!! Post your scores and talk about your round for all to see. PLAY OFTEN - POST OFTEN!!
  4. WEEK 3 FINAL LEADERBOARD MYGOLFSPY FORUM MEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR ======================================================================== We had a GREAT turnout this week with 31 separate scores posted! AWESOME to see all the golf being played around the world. This week's Winners: Low Net Score: @MattF posted a Net 61(-9) at Windmill Lakes CG early in the week to hold off a great round posted by @daviddvm and his -8 net 64 at Moody Gardens GC. CONGRATULATIONS @MattF our Week 3 Champion and this week's owner of the MyGolfSpy Black Jacket! MOST NET BIRDIES OR BETTER We had a two way tie with 10 net birdies or better posted by @MattF and @badgergolf. With MattF taking the Black Jacket for low net score - @badgergolf is this week's winner of the Low Net Birdies or Better Badge! LONGEST DRIVE What a week for driving distance!! We had 10 drives over 290 yards and 6 of those recorded over 300 yards! Standing alone WAY down the fairway is @Philip_Rwith a TOWERING drive of 333 yards - edging @ncwozby two yards and the Claiming the Long Drive Badge for Week 3. Thanks again to everyone posting scores, and sharing your rounds in this thread. I know the golf season is winding down in the cooler parts of the world - but we will keep this thread alive through the winter for all those able to play. Keep tuned to the forum for a SIM version of a weekly competition - should be a lot of fun as well!!
  5. Bobbers, I have scanned the thread - just curious... did you land on the Diamana Red L flex as your "in the bag" driver? The more I read this thread, and think about it... I believe the "magic" is in the swing weight. It makes perfect sense to me that a heavier "head" weight would cause that over flexed shaft and face hanging open issue that some have experienced. The D0 swing weight let's the head keep up with the more flexible shaft. I am ready to place my shaft order for the driver shaft, then I will have my fitter put the Titleist tip on it, and then weight the butt end with the TSi3 head to be sure it comes in right at D0. So now I just need to decide which shaft I'm going to order... The Graffaloy PLB is definitely a front runner, but you have had good success with the Diamana Red it sounds... decisions/decisions.
  6. I was able to play the 2nd half of my 9 hole round that I started earlier in the week at my home course Willow Fork CC. Didn't play as well this evening as I did earlier in the week. 4 over 40 today / combined with the previously played 2 under 34 = 74 (+2 gross / -2 net). 6 net birdies and a long drive of 269 yards.
  7. 3rd round of the week today. Once again, undone by one hole. I shot 40/38 with a triple on Par 5 4th hole - position shot with a 3 wood off the tee, 6 iron layup short of the water fronting green to 100 yards, but left it just off the fairway in the rough. Should Have Been a nice little 3/4 wedge to the pin. But what actually happed was a chunky contact causing the ball to roll up the face and left me 3/4 the way across the pond. In a classic Tin Cup moment, I took my drop in that exact location (instead of walking up to the waters edge and taking my drop there - some 40 yards closer to the green) which then nestled even further down into the rough. A full gap wedge gouge later - the ball hit the green running and over the back fringe and left me a chip back down the hill, missed the putt, and tapped in for a smooth 8. Other than that... 4 bogeys and a birdie in route to my 78. 1 natural birdie/3 net birdies. Best drive of the day (and year) came on the Par 5 - 18th hole; down wind and found a nice hard spot on the fairway leaving me 230 to the green. Total driving distance 296 yards. Course: Willow Fork CC Course Handicap: 4 Gross Score: 78 (+6) Net Score: 74 (+2) Net Birdies: 4 Long Drive: 296
  8. FOZ! Not only were you playing well, but you banked in the Tourney!! NICE!!! Good Luck in Day 2 - Keep it going!
  9. Hi Bang, At the top of each page in this thread, you should see a blue box with the leaderboard. Here is where we stand currently:
  10. Ok, I have updated your score on the leaderboard... sorry again for the mistake. So, as far as smiley faces, are you meaning in the test of your post, or as a reaction to someone else's post? In the post, you should be able to find it here: if you are trying to react to another post it should be here: Let me know if you are looking for something else.
  11. OH!! Sorry Bang! I will get the score updated on the Leaderboard. My mistake.
  12. I agree with this comment @ncwoz. Exec courses really hone my iron games... good reminder for me to seek out that type of course more often!
  13. Played in my men's club weekly event this morning. I was definitely not on my game today... but somehow managed to grind my way around the course with nothing worse than a bogey. It seemed I was clipping trees on every drive and my putter was equally troublesome costing me minimum 4 strokes, but also saved several holes as well. I shot 38/40 for a gross 78 (net 74 or 2 over par net). I had 2 gross birdies and 3 net birdies, and thanks to a helping wind and a nice first bounce off some hardpan... measured a drive at 291 yards. shot of the day came on the #1 hole (which was my 13th hole of the day after a shotgun start). I hit a solid drive, but as my day seemed to be.. I clipped a tree on the right side of the fairway and it dropped straight down. I had 170 to an elevated green with the pin positioned directly over a trap. I flushed a 6 iron that dropped right on the front edge of the green and trickled forward to 4 feet. rolled in the putt for a birdie.
  14. Thanks for posting the round Bang. I think I tabulated it correctly on the leaderboard. I assume your two nines are listed side by side above for a total score of 106? Let me know if I assumed correctly.
  15. Thanks for letting me know. I have you added into the leaderboard... tied for the lead in the long drive category
  16. Thanks for posting your score Nic. Wind and cart paths are perfectly legal in the Long Drive category!! Nice result at 312 Where did you play?
  17. Thanks! I will definitely reach out to you if I am in the area. I keep looking at all the fantastic courses around DFW... hard to choose which to target first!
  18. Makes me wonder how it would have reacted if not for the sanded greens... from your description, it might have spun back leaving you a longer putt? or bounced forward toward the hole... but a nice 4 footer for birdie is a great outcome!
