Just had a driver fitting. Landed on a Ping G430 Max 10K. Standard flex stock shaft Alta CB graphite 55 g. Usually play all stiff iishafts but with my swing speed, I’m in a bit of a grey area. Love the feel. Time will tell if money well spent.

Seeing as I've never been and this year will be my first time, I'm going to say, get Sunday tickets (I already have Saturday tix)! Plus, I don't want to tear up the grounds with my game. Hah!

I think if you are just learning the game, you need to play. Go play first. Get addicted. Go take a lesson. Get better. Then when you plateau or not seeing improvement, then maybe go get fit. I know a lot of guys (and girls) who love golf, play fairly well and have never been fitted. It's just not that important to them. But if you want to improve or you start to see a drop off, a fitting can only help.

I guess I understand that logic, but I think it depends on what you want out of your fitting and your golf game in general. For me, I just wanted to make sure my lie angle and club length were correct. And trying different shafts and club heads helped me feel comfortable and more confident in my game. I’m looking for a swing aid that I can use indoors, like in my office, to get the feel of the turn plus wrist bend on the backswing. I can’t swing a full length club. Just need something short with weight on the end so I can feel the pressure on the back of my left wrist. Anything out there like that?
