Shaft Hack - The Otto Phlex Journey
SkateboardGolf replied to azstu324's topic in General Equipment Talk
I have given up on my OTTO PHLEX journey. I have the famous Grafalloy ProLaunch 45 L flex that's all the rage in the forum, with a Ping adapter. It fits my G430. Selling for $59 shipped. Just reply, or PM me. Cheers, Photo from my earlier forum post here: -

Thanks for the replies! I am somewhat encouraged. Bought a digital kitchen scale from Walmart and got the swing weight between D1 and D2. Off to the course I go - will report back. -

Thanks for your reply! Shaft length is 44.125" from end of grip to end of TaylorMade adjuster. I removed both adjustable weights (see photo) and have found a +3-5mph increase in swing speed. It feels ridiculously light now. Am I on the right track? -

Well, I've read most of this topic, and just happily received my Grafalloy ProLaunch 45 L flex today. Put it in my TaylorMade M3 head. It feels super light and whippy and makes a higher-pitched swoosh, but using my PRGR swing speed monitor in my living room, I can't swing it any faster than my existing shaft - a VA Composites Nemesys 55g R flex. All swings are around 100mph. I was hoping for a 5mph swing speed increase. Do I need to load the shaft more in the transition? Or will I see a dramatic difference once I hit balls with it? Thanks! Really want to love this shaft.
