  1. Per usual on non-golf days. I practiced my indoor putting drills, Dr Kown's rope drill, and hit into my strike bag.
  2. I just had my irons reshafted to Project X IO. Now I will wait until this fall and the release of the Mizuno 925 Forged or go with the 245 Pro Iron heads. Either way I will have them installed into the shafts I just purchased.
  3. The 13th of course. Its the last hole of Amen Corner and every shot presents its own challenge. It demands a draw off the tee. You need to pick your shot with a very challenging approach shot into the green. And once your on the green your work just began.
  4. As long as I've been fitted in advanced, and those gently used clubs match that fitting...then they could be a steal!
  5. As usual you didn't give us enough info. But the temps will range somewhere in the 70s with winds between 14 and 20mph. Since I've never played this course I did some research and found the tee shot is completely blind and uphill. From the tips it looks like 226 to clear first stream. Given that it's either my hybrid 4 or a 5 iron for my layup. The second shot appears to play down hill. So depending upon the slope I'm choosing the club that gets me to 100 yards;. My score depends upon how close to the flag I play my 3rd shot.
  6. My takeaway. I have a tendency to take it a bit too far out causing me to come to far over the top....not good! So I've been working on my left arm to go straight back while keeping the triangle of my left and right arm. When I do that my shots are much straighter and my scores stay below 80.
  7. As I stated before, once upon a time I was a devoted Vokey wedge guy for years. But after trying the Taylormade MG3's I was converted given the enhanced sound, feel and accuracy. I agree with the comments about the wear and tear on the wedges themselves; but, I haven't noticed them tearing up my Pro V-1X or TP5X golf balls. After saying that, I buy new 54 and 60 degree wedges every year (and my 50 degree wedge every 2 years) so that wear and tear is not a big deal for me. In addition, I carry a grove sharpening tool--which I use as needed (typically once a month after about 9 months or so). But for me the difference in accuracy and feel of my MG4s is well worth it.
  8. It would be my great pleasure to test the Mizuno ST driver. I now play the Pro 225s and prior that played the 219 and 221 forged irons. So testing the ST driver would be an honor. Nothing feels like a Mizuno!
  9. My typical Sunday is to practice my putting for an hour and then focus on 50 yards and in and around the green. My club has a great short game area with 3 greens and 3 sand traps. So I can get all my work in without too much interference. I then finish with an hour on the range.
  10. From the orange tees, assuming less than a 10 mph wind in my face I'd probably go with my 3 wood and a draw. That would most likely leave me with about 190-95 and my 4-Hybrid for my second shot. If the wind is > 10mph than its a driver (which usually is a fade) and my hybrid for the second shot.
  11. This year I started with Taylormade MG3's. But I knew it was time to replace my worn out wedges. I read all the reviews on the SM9s and since I've played Titleist wedges exclusively in the past, I gave them a go. Immediately I missed the sound, the feel and the accuracy of my MG3s. So I traded in my SM9s for MG4s and love them. Once again I can feel all my shots and the accuracy I have with them is outstanding. My game depends on my short game. I am good off the tee and around the green....its the approach game that needs work. And once again I am shooting around 75 or below.
