  1. I really wanted to get a tee time and be on the course during the totality, but because of the influx of thousands from outside my area, folks are warned not to travel that day due to congested roads. My town will get about 98%, but just to the west, they will get 100%.
  2. Pulled my right oblique muscle this past summer. Missed two months getting it to mend. Note to self and others, warm up before you have a go at it, especially if you are getting up in years.
  3. https://tidewatergolf.com/ Played 36 here once, wish I could go back.
  4. Age sixty seven and have lost some distance over the years as most senior golfers have. August 2, 2023 bought a TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD 10.5 degree regular-flex driver. Thirty one rounds later can tell you it's the best driver I've ever owned and been playing since a teenager. I keep a golf diary and this is my entry after the first round with the new driver: First day with my new TaylorMade driver; think I’m going to like this new club. With the lighter weight of the club, it's easier to get the ball airborne, and am already finding more fairways with more distance.
  5. I was a member of a course for 3 years. At my age and skill level there were two tee boxes appropriate for me (and my buddies). One was 6300 yards, a little long. The other was 5700 yards, a little short. So we made our own combo course with the tees now set at about 6000 yards, just right.
  6. Judy Rankin, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame once said that if you're not hitting 7-iron or less into at least half of your greens during a round, then you NEED to move forward to a shorter tee box.
  7. My best example of course management is the 12 hole of my home course. It's a 508 yard par-5 from the white tees. When hitting driver the landing area is very narrow, trees on the left and a pond on the right. My buddies and I always hit driver, after all it's a par-5 right. Then we hope for the best, but are many time disappointed. A much better golfer than I played the hole with me once and teed off with a hybrid. I then realized he took the water out of play by hitting a club that couldn't reach it. Then he hit a fairway or another hybrid to a lay up yardage and onto the green for a birdie or par. I was amazed that myself or my buddies had never had the foresight to see the hole played that way, and I mean for years.
  8. We have 5 sets of tees at my home course: Gold, Blue, White, Green, & Red. At age 67, 67, & 73 our threesome plays from the white during the warmer days & the green from the cooler or wetter days. Lots more fun and isn't that what's its all about anyway?
  9. Email link directed me to the Golf Galaxy website and the promo code IS working there finally.
  10. Bought a couple of them on sale last year. Ended up trading them in a year later. For the most part I couldn't hit them. They felt heavy & dead when I swung & hit the ball. Guy at the golf store said several other golfers had had similar results.
