  1. I have had uncanny luck at being able to play 1 ball through a whole round the last handful of outings. I generally have 10 ish balls in the bag unless I just get a hankering to play a brand new sleeve
  2. I switched to a ping g425 this summer and while I loved the forgiveness it just wasn’t the club (did keep me in the fairway). I ended up dropping back to my titleist 983k (partially bc my brother wanted the ping) that’s 20+ yrs old bc I can still bomb it and feel in control. I tested the stealth and was ready to pull the trigger (even got a shaft for it ready to go) but got myself curious about the burner mini. I’d go for the burner no doubt if they had a 9.5 or less loft. So currently I’m basically in driverless limbo. I game a callaway steelhead plus 3 wood that I’ve tried to replace over the years but nothing can take that beast out of the bag. My best drive this season came on hole #4 of my home course. It’s a 390 par 4 semi dog leg left with a bunker on the left side designed to prevent you from cutting the corner. Trees line both fairways and a shot that’s straight but too long is in the woods. Against my usual judgement and feeling like I was swinging well I brought out the driver and decided to rip it, the most perfect baby draw right along the left tree line and well clear of the bunker. Left myself about 45 into the green. Definitely didn’t flub the approach fat and have to scramble for par (I did). I don’t know that you should pick me, there may be other more deserving gamers out there but if you do, I know I’ll provide an honest objective review that will help others struggling in big stick limbo and need a relatable experience to add a piece to the bag.
  3. I got one from https://theshaftstore.com for 15% off and was very pleased. They even slapped a cp2 pro midsize grip on it for no charge and 15% off deal going right now
  4. I have basically no knowledge of fourteen but I game miura and care most about feel and ball flight. Golf is such a mental game I think people overlook the aspect of confidence which these miuras give me an abundance of. Are the fourteens nice and buttery? What’s the word on these?
  5. Miura is having 25% off irons and wedges, 50% off apparel and accessories starting tomorrow
  6. Don’t think I saw this anywhere. Srixon has their balls buy 2 get 1 free currently. https://us.dunlopsports.com/srixon I haven’t played them a ton personally but they have a nice feel and distance off the tee.
  7. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Been playing golf for ~30 years with a 8 ish year hiatus due to career/kids/etc. Currently playing around a 10hcp as this was my first season back. I anticipate to start finding rounds under 80 more frequently next season What do you love about golf? Everything from hitting that one great tee shot or approach shot, or sinking that long putt to tinkering with clubs and setups. Ha, I even find it fun to find random golf balls when scouring the woods for your own. I could live at the golf course, I just love the game and everything about the community around it What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I really enjoy the buying guides and reviews as well as the news articles detailing new tech and gear coming out, etc. I am just now getting into the forum and anticipate this will help scratch that new found itch I have for the game. Where are you from? What is your home course? Currently do not have a "home" course but have been playing Windermere and Olde Atlanta. Living in north ATL burbs What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? There is a good amount of course variety and challenging options to take so that everything isn't just a wide open grip it and rip it track. On the bad side, so many of the "good" courses are private only part of the "invitedclub" network making them pretty inaccessible for most golfers. Also finding that many courses are stacking tee times so tightly that it just slows the round down to a crawl which is a real drain on focusing on a round when you have time constraints What do you do for a living? I am an optometrist How’d you pick your user name? Username is a play off of my 20+ year old xbox gamertag
  8. I was never a big wedge player as I honestly found ways to game my pw and sw as needed UNTIL I finally got myself a 52 MG3. Smooth ball striking and nice playability around the greens, thought I’d get another loft or two until I tried the SM9 in 54 and 58. I took back my 52 MG3 and got an SM9 50. For me nothing gave me the feel of control with the ball and the purity of each strike that the vokeys do. I haven’t had them long enough to comment on their wear but it’s going to be a difficult sell for me to steer away from vokey at this point.
