  1. Fantastic trip! I love playing the southern Utah areas in & around St. George. Some great ones just down the highway in Mesquite, NV as well. Definitely a hidden gem for a "golf-centered" trip with a ton of extras to do if you wanted to take an afternoon or full day away from the course (Zions National Park, etc.). Glad you had a great time!
  2. Good morning all! Got a full round in for the first time in a few weeks yesterday - a rare 70 degree and no wind day for mid-December up here in the Panhandle. Course was still very soft and dormant grass was thin, but a great time. Got to finally use my new wedges (Vokey SM9's) somewhere other then a turf mat & sim. A little more head weight then what I've been drawn to in the past - hard time getting attack angle just right and catching them too little heavy or thin at first, but started getting it dialed in towards the end. Incredible spin control with these suckers. Just a few more days at the office this week, then off until 2024. Hopefully get a few rounds in with family that are visiting. Have a great day!
  3. I had never really looked at the Sub70 equipment. Pretty good looking line-up, especially the irons. What were you using before and how do you like them so far?
  4. Good morning to you all! New to the forum these past few weeks and looking forward to all the action from you "Spies". A (rare) second full day of rain here in the Texas panhandle, but I'll still be getting reps in tonight on the sim. Hopefully dries & warms up this weekend so I can get out of the box and on to the course! Have a great day!
  5. Looking to surprise my dad with a golf trip within the next year or two. If you had to pick one or the other for a week long getaway, which would you choose? A week playing the courses at Big Cedar Lodge? Or some of the RTJ Golf Trail courses? I've visited the courses with Big Cedar, but haven't played. Looks SPECTACULAR! At the same time, I have done plenty of researching the RTJ courses and REALLY want to play courses Capitol Hill, Ross Bridge, Grand National, and The Shoals just to name a few. What would you choose and what's your reason? Any advice or suggestions related are very much welcomed as well! Thanks!
  6. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Playing about 40 years (since I was 6 years old). Played some college golf and worked as a PGA Assistant / club pro as I completed by undergrad degree. Once I graduated and got a job consistent with my degree, got married & started a family, I stepped away from golf only playing a few times per year - primarily in corporate scramble events. Kids are older and more time allowed me to start getting back in to it over the past couple years. Handicap is back to around scratch (0) and recent rounds have been anywhere from high 60's to mid 70's. What do you love about golf? The challenge that you're constantly playing within yourself - knowing your limitations and pushing them to next level - and that there's always something to improve on, physically and mentally. Once you think you've got it and everything is in sync, something overcorrects and needs to be tweaked. It's the perfect game of imperfections. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Found when researching comparisons with iron shafts. Trolled around and became interested in getting involved. Where are you from? What is your home course? Originally from Dallas, TX area, but recently relocated to Amarillo, TX. Don't have a home course yet. Just playing Canyon CC and multiple public courses for now. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Weather allows for year-round playability in several parts of the region. Wide variety of course terrains, difficulties, etc. Some of the best courses and hidden gems in the nation. What do you do for a living? Financial/accounting management & support within the construction industry. How’d you pick your user name? Been using for years.
