  1. Hello everyone, I too have been on here for about a month. I live in the Philadelphia suburbs. I play at a private course named McCall Golf Club. It is short, about 4400 yards from the back tees. It is claustrophobic. Tight fairways, small, well bunkered greens. I just started playing avidly again about 2 and a half years ago. I am 57 years old. I've been playing since I was 11 years old. My bag currently has Titleist 915D2 driver and 3 wood, Cleveland Laucher 7 wood, Tour Edge 3 hybrid, Hogan Edge 2023 irons with Senior flex shafts, Cleveland 49 degree gap wedge, Vokey 56 degree Sand wedge, and Ping Anser 2 putter. I play whenever I have 3 hours to get out (the benefit of playing a short course 5 miles from home!). I also walk whenever I can. I just bought a TGW Weekender push cart so I dont have to carry. I find walking enjoyable and the health benefits are awesome. See you on the tee.
  2. I have to make an addendum to my earlier comment: what is the objection to cargo shorts? This is something I truly do not understand. As I get older I find that I have more stuff in my pockets than I ever did. Cargo shorts offer those extra pockets I require to give me peace of mind. Can someone advise me the objectionability of cargo shorts?
  3. I have two at my club. Both are par 3s. The first is 180 with a very narrow target area. The second is a 230 yard downhill par 3 with a creek protecting the green. I don't get bothered by bogey on either one. As long as I take 5 out of the equation. I can make the shots up on other holes.
  4. Cut will be Even (or Level) par. Low amateur will be Christo Lamprecht.
  5. I am going to respectfully disagree with the author here. First, Anthony Kim looked like a homeless person that day on the LIV Tour. No t-shirts please. Maybe because I am old and that is the way it has always been but I cannot get on board with t-shirts and running shorts to play golf. A collared shirt and nice pair of shorts shows respect for the game IMHO. Hoodies? Fine, but I can't swing the club with the hood much less bending to mark balls and get them out of the hole. I know the hood would bother me. For anyone else, no worries. PGA Tour pros wearing shorts? Again, no objections. Let them wear shorts. The PGA Tour had much bigger problems than the dress code. I don't think the dress code is keeping the game from growing. The problem is the same it has been since I started playing in the mid-1970s and before: the game is too expensive and access is limited. Find a way to get more economically diverse players into the game (First Tee is a good start) and you can grow the game. Also, it is very hard work to improve and become good at this game. I think the difficulty of the game turns off many prospective long-term golfers.
  6. I'm in my later 50s now. I just started playing avidly again after close to 20 years of only getting to play 3-4 rounds a year. Some guys at my club like to listen to music while they play. I like the music, but I find it hard to play golf with music playing. It makes me unable to concentrate to the necessary level for me to play the way I want. I have no problem with anyone else listening as long as it's not too loud. I have a speaker my wife got me for Christmas, but I haven't yet used it. My two cents.
