  1. I had an unexpected equipment desire pop up over the weekend. Bought a Paradym approach wedge from Callaway Preowned to fill a gap in my bag between PW and my 56 degree. Unfortunately, I hit the three best approach shots of my life with it this weekend and now I think I have to angrily buy the rest of the Paradym irons
  2. I appreciate the invite but unfortunately won’t be able to make it. Hope someone’s able to step up to the plate!
  3. Honestly I only use it off the tees so I can’t say for myself, but it’s meant to also hit off the deck for sure. I’m just not very good with fairway woods unless they’re teed up. Trying to work on my 5W out of the fairway lately but it’s a work in progress lol
  4. I’ve always been a 3-wood-off-the-tee guy despite trying to make the driver happen every few weeks to limited success. But once I put an 11.5* BRNR Mini in the bag (thanks, gift card!) I don’t think I’ll ever take it out. I just absolutely stripe that thing despite it being “less forgiving” than my Sim2 Max. Go figure. The other club that’s always going to be safe for me is my Apex Pro 4H, which is my safety blanket when i need 180-200 yards. I like the PXG 0211 irons I’ve been gaming but I will eventually get fitted for a full set of something. The most likely clubs to be on the outs for me are any wedge that’s not my 56* Jaws Raw. Can’t seem to find a full wedge setup that I’m comfortable with so I’m constantly tweaking.
  5. Started off the year using Chrome Soft Xs but I was looking for a cheaper option so I went with the MGS Specials: Maxfli Tour X. So far so good and you can’t beat that deal for the 48 ball brick from Dick’s.
  6. I’ll be interested to see how the putter plays; I received some kind of pre-order email about the putters a week-ish back, and the price point seemed high for DTC (more than the Odyssey Versa Double Wide I game right now at least, though that club’s price doesn’t exactly break the bank). Hopefully we’ll get to see a few in the wild soon and find out if the hype is real.
  7. Hola, glad to be here and I’m hoping to learn a lot on my quest to become better than my buddies at golf, which I’m sure is a motivator for a lot of us. How long have you been playing golf? - I played very casually as a youth, but just recently picked it up and started taking it more seriously around 2022. What’s your handicap or normal score? - Been hovering around a 20 hdcp for the last year or so. I mostly play early morning back 9s with a scores ranging 45-50. 18 hole low score is 92 but I still mix in a 115 here or there to keep it spicy What do you love about golf? - The feeling of being out on the course is very calming and that combined with the spirit of competition makes it a game that I look forward to playing every weekend. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? - Don’t think I know any other Spies but I use the Ball Lab and forum reviews a lot when I’m in the market for gear. Where are you from? What is your home course? - From LA, home course is Harbor Park I suppose, but I play different courses all over the city and rarely do the same course twice in a row What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? - Worst is getting good tee times without a hassle, best is the variety of affordable courses in the area (and some great not-so-affordable ones) What do you do for a living? - FP&A How’d you pick your user name? - it’s one I use in multiple places so I stuck with it
