  1. I've grown to like/appreciate the 9 hole course near me. It has some interesting holes, some risk/reward tee shots and it's darn cheap. It's nice to not feel like you need to commit to a whole day out there. Just go walk an easy 9 for some exercise and a casual round. It's been a nice change of pace.
  2. The only one I really disagree with is the headcovers. I mean - why not have some sort of cool/custom/meaningful headcover? And as a bonus, it doesn't advertise what (potentially) expensive club you have under there. Buying a stand alone GPS unit, I totally agree with. My phone works great. Some of these apps now you can even get a satellite image of the hole, see the distance to trouble areas..etc. It's been a game changer when playing new courses.
  3. I find with standard size grips I have to put more grip pressure into the club. It's way too much in my fingers and I have to realllly hold on. Just not comfortable for me. It's totally playable, but once I change the grips out it's like a breath of fresh air. If your hands are on the bigger side, you should for sure consider a bigger grip. And even if not - it doesn't hurt to try. You can get the Karma velvet grips for 2-3 bucks a piece. Their jumbo grips are the same size as Golf Pride and Lamkin's midsize. I'd recommend maybe going with a driver, 7 irons and a wedge and see what you like.
  4. Oh dang! Knowing the level of attention they put into the builds, it really seems like you'd be hard pressed to find a better price/quality ratio with this sale.
  5. Yeah - I'm like just a hair over 8 1/2, maybe a hair under if it's cold
  6. Very interesting. He mentioned more wear in the grips by the thumbs as a sign that the grip might be too small. I've been a midsize guy, but I've toyed with the idea of going up to jumbo as my hand size is right on that line. I just don't like when the grips get too big and soft and you start to lose feel. I wish those jumbomax grips weren't so expensive. I went back and forth about trying them out, but without a place to demo them - you'd drop a good amount of money just to try a few sizes.
  7. Congrats! Excited to read the reviews of this one for sure!
  8. Thanks for that! Really interesting stuff there, it'd be cool for everyone to try one just to see what swing/wrist pattern you are.
  9. Great write up! It's interesting to me that the Ping G430 LST (at least in the one photo) launched a touch lower than the GT, but you had a lot more spin. On paper, you'd think the 430LST would be far and away a lower spinning head vs the GT2. I'm in a very similar boat. I play the G425 LST and while I'm getting good results keeping it in play, it really feels like I'm giving up a lot of yardage.
  10. That is EXACTLY me! I've struggled with getting the clubhead going too much inside and getting under plane in the backswing. I'll literally run back and forth recording my swing in the garage and reviewing it over and over thinking a certain feel with be the difference. Swing almost always ends up looking the exact same, lol.
  11. One thing I've struggled with is the whole concept of feel vs real. I'll try to make swing changes and record myself and just can't seem to nail certain positions. The idea of real time feedback with the hackmotion seems like such a huge game changer for folks like myself. Super interested to read the feedback from the testers!
  12. Great looking irons. I'm really interested to read the feedback from the testers. Hoping these are as good as they look!
  13. No real argument there. I played the original Snell balls and liked them, just like I played the original Kirkland ball and liked it. But these days I'd look to Maxfli or Vice.
  14. His main argument is that the "data" isn't indicative of the actual performance of a golf ball. I'd like to believe if there is a big enough variance that there clearly would be a performance difference, but the question is how much does that variance need to be?
