  1. I really want to get the people I work with some company branded golf bags that are cart bags (because they have carry bags) and wanted to find something a little different. Curious how this one plays out.
  2. Always looking forward to finding more about gloves. FJ (various) wears the best for me but the pinky finger is long. Kirkland fits great but I feel like I only get a couple rounds out of it before it stretches too much.
  3. Yes to the driveway sticks used my snow removal crews. You can usually get a pack of 6 for $12-$15. Make sure you get a brand with no metal on the ends, just rubber on one end and a shaved spike on the other.
  4. How long have you been playing golf? 19 years but didn't play much the last 7 before this year. What’s your handicap or normal score? I'm a 20 after being a 12 before I stopped playing for awhile. What do you love about golf? Very rare to get the ability to step away from everything for 4 hours and work on quieting everything and challenging yourself. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I don't know any other spies but I was looking for some help navigating the game after being away for so long. Where should I be playing? What equipment should I be looking at? What are people doing to improve their game these days etc. Where are you from? What is your home course? Kitchener, ON, Canada Don't really have one but Rebel Creek would be the closest thing. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best is that people love playing here and there is a lot of passion. Worst is the weather limits the ability to play for about half the year. What do you do for a living? I run my own commercial real estate private equity and asset management company. How’d you pick your user name? Just something I use sometimes. Need to come up with something more creative :).
  5. Performance was better on the stats but only a little compared to vokey. Tried the rtx6 and Opus - both were too light. Distance was a couple yards more for the vokey but dispersion was a little more spread out and again, spin was lower. Rust doesn't bother me at all, just curious what to expect. Vokeys are great, don't get me wrong but I just liked the feel of the MG4's with my swing better. It is a similar weight to my old vokeys from 2009/2010 so it feels more comfortable where the newer vokeys are heavier.
  6. Just got fitted for wedges today. Always been a vokey guy and just got floored by the quality and feel of the MG4's and they beat out the vokeys for me relating to the stats/results. First time outside of Titleist and really happy about it. Right amount of spin and very tight dispersion. I went in with them being number 5 on my list but they were a pretty clear winner. Anyone have experience using them over a season or so? I hear they rust quite a bit and the grooves can wreak havoc on your golf balls. Thoughts?
  7. Club technology changes, for sure. But usually over a decade. Year to year it's rare, not impossible, that a manufacturer is going to blow their last iteration out of the water. Some great deals right now on clubs that are 2020-2023 models. Even some good 2024 deals. I liked the mk fairway over the mkii and got it for under $200. If you're hitting it well in a fitting, that's the info you need.
  8. I'm trying a bunch of things this year. Haven't found a go to yet. TP5x, QStar, e12 (not a fan), Tour Response and AVX. Not sure where I'll land!
  9. Really learn and practice the difference between pitch and chip. Stance, follow through, weight distribution etc. If you practice this (along with putting) as much or more than hitting balls on the range, it'll make a meaningful difference in score.
  10. I just bought this 3 years later. It outperformed a lot of 3W that were much more expensive (for my swing at least). For me, performed better than the mkii as well. Would have never considered this club, or srixon, but wow.
  11. Thanks for this. I was actually messing around at golf town today because I was looking at some used 3 woods as my old hibore xl just isn't cutting it after 10+ years. I hit about 10 clubs from a used m4 to a new paradigm. Might be hard to believe but I was hitting a ZX the best (evenflow S shaft, not the hards black). Significantly better than the mkii. I swore off buying off the rack after getting fitted recently but this one felt like a no brainer to get me through a few years. Probably won't take a flier like that again but at $200 CDN it was too good to pass up as a medium term fix.
  12. Hahaha yea, it is. Just about feel. Need to go try some things out for that.
  13. Definitely. Already ordered the gap of the t200s. It was a mistake to not do that initially and fell in love with the new irons. Thanks so much.
  14. TITLEIST T200 3G IRONS RH Set Make Up - 5 to PW Loft - Std Lie - 0.5 UP Shaft - Nippon Modus 105 - Stiff Length - PLUS 0.75" Grip - Lamkin Crossline - Midsize
  15. Really appreciate that insight. I really felt the same way on a fairway wood as the swing is pretty similar. I'll probably end up getting fitted for the wedges. Any thoughts on a good 3 wood from previous seasons? After spending quite a bit this year, I'm hoping to find something one or two seasons old that does the trick.
