  1. Wow... after that, my 84 on a 40 degree windy day in NW Missouri just really sounds sad! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. Pretty much - cow tippin' Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. 70's in Missouri a week before Thanksgiving... but gusty 2-4 club wind howling all day. I squeaked out an 86 this afternoon and felt pretty good about it! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I came in at 83 this morning after sitting in the club house for 2 hours on frost delay... gradually peeled layers off all morning. Driver was good, approach shots are getting harder to stick due to the greens getting harder, and only 2 birdies - I couldn't buy a putt - 37 putts today. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. If you have that, your garage is funded much better than mine!!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. That turned out great - I like the contrast with the raw insert! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. A man after my own heart! Nice setup! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Thanks - it's sort of addictive! I did a tpm #7 last night, and took it up the neck (hammered everything but the face and top line). I thought about going purple or blue, but I think this bronze color is perfect for the hammered finish. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Just an update on the hammer thing - this guy got some heat tonight, and black paint fill. I stopped the heat just before the bronze started to turn blue/purple thinking that the bronze would best show the hammered texture. By accident, I figured out that wiping some black paint on the hammer area gives it some patina look as well. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Thanks for the kind words! Tyson is definitely a prodigy, and I think that he will become one of the greats in due time. I saw a pic of one of his putters with a cherry bomb stamped on it, and the letter F inside it. Anyone who plays golf with me will attest - I need an F-bomb putter in my life! 11. This style is my favorite, and led me to my gamer(s) which are a Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1 & 2. They both have the same purple torched finish and black paintfill, same specs, same grip, etc. I just go back and forth depending on which side my miss is on. (The 1/2 shaft of difference in offset make a difference in my little mind) The torched finish has worn, but I'm very cautious about dings - I worked way too hard reviving them to beat them up! And I'm pretty sure I won't pound 'em with a hammer either! This is the #1: Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. I gave it a whirl on an old tpm 3 that I recently brought to life - very nice! I couldn't do the top line - my OCD would not let me use it... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. That's a lot simpler than I had imagined! I think I'll give it a shot! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. That looks great! Can you explain how the hammering process works? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. 2 of my usual weekend 4 had 'wife issues' today, and the other one called 30 minutes before tee time to tell me he pulled a muscle yesterday, and wouldn't be playing... so, I'm going solo, but meet up with another guy who was solo, and we decide to pair up. We ended up playing 36 this morning, I made a new friend, and I shot 80 and 76 (which is pretty good for me). Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today... double bogey on the first 6 holes! I ended up getting my life together after that and salvaged an 87. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Good for you! That looks incredible! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. I think mine stuck - great idea! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. My gap, sand, and lob are all the same length, and only 1/4" shorter than my pw. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. I had a great round today - played the most challenging course I've ever played (only played it once before) - cut into the bluffs above a huge lake, and it winds through a lakeside neighborhood. Not a level spot on the property, narrow fairways, and tons of trouble. The greens have more movement than I think should be considered fair. I ended up at 81 and about fainted! Only missed one fairway, 31 putts (aided by 2 chip-ins), but found water on 2 of the par 3's. And... it was in the upper 80's with sun today in Missouri. Not normal in October! 21. I went out Friday afternoon to play/practice alone, but was joined by a young guy on the 1st tee. Nice kid - 1/2 my age and about twice my distance off the tee. Good reminder of what I've learned over the years - my ball was 220 yards ahead in the fairway, his was 250 yards ahead and 75 yards sideways. I was hitting well, and at the end of our round he couldn't believe that I took him 81 to 98. Saturday morning, I played with some buddies. The course had just had the greens dressed with sand, it rained a ton earlier in the week (drainage isn't good here), and my driver had left the building... early morning dew made the greens even worse - you putt, and the ball doubles in size with sand as it stops 1/2 way to the hole... we all shot 90's... Today, going with a buddy to play a couple courses about 1 hour away. Not sure how the weather was there, not sure if my driver will return, but I'm playing golf!!! 22. Had a good golf day (for me) yesterday. Teed off at 7:15am - barely light, heavy dew, grounds crew hadn't started mowing greens yet... shot 12 over, which is fairly good for me. After playing, one of my buddies talked me into brunch and playing another round at a different course. So we went - and I shot 6 over on the front, 2 under on the back. That is really good for me. Even though I beat him by a land slide, he stole the glory, with a hole-out for eagle on a par 4. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
