  1. The v3 is a good option - I love mine! The newer ones have a few extra bells and whistles, but the v3 is a little less expensive now, and does everything you need. I would recommend keeping a spare battery in your bag - when it's dead, it's dead - no warning. Other than that, it's a perfect choice! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  3. ...and Grandma came thru with the rain suit! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. We have a high of 64 today, which doesn't happen in Missouri on Christmas... but it's gloomy with off and on thunderstorms (which also don't happen here in December). Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Well, I got a Nike 1/2 zip pullover in black along with a Dick's gift card and a 1 hour massage certificate from the wife and kids. No complaints there! I also finished this little gift to myself last night, which will be on the course tomorrow: Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. I wanted a rain suit and some 1/2 zip pullovers - will update later... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. I saw this on eBay - it looks good with the plumber neck! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. This was a pleasant surprise... I just got this Cameron Circa 62 #1 for super cheap. By the pics, it didn't look beaten up, but I thought I would need to strip it bare and torch it. Once it arrived, it was in better condition than I thought - a little steel wool, polish, and black paint fill later, I think I'll play this one as is for awhile. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Finally played today after a week and a half of cold and snow. It's been melting for a few days, and they finally let us out today. After a low of -4 on Monday, getting above 40 today feels like a heat wave! So, it's about 40, rained off and on all morning, snow in patches all over the place, and everything is super soggy. Considering conditions, an 85 doesn't seem horrible, but I am glad I got to play at all! It looks to be in the 40's all next week, and I'm off work - winter golf marathon, here we come! 10. Here we go... gonna have to buy up some old copper putters again! I'm gonna tell my wife it's all your fault!!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. You can torch it for color - things happen a little faster, and i'm not sure if you can get one solid color (maybe with practice?), but it's a pretty cool result on the few that i've tried over the years. That's probably 15-20 years ago since I messed with the old pings. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. If you have a media blast setup, you could get it back to a similar look as it had when it was new. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. I don't think that's becu - it normally gets super dark brown. Are you sure you want it shiny? You could sand a few nicks out of it, and polish with a cloth wheel - it'll be so shiny that it blinds you in the sun. You can look up info on the internet, but that probably has the bb in the shaft, which requires drilling the bottom of the cup where the shaft fits in the plumber neck to get the shaft out. You can still polish these with the shaft on, it's just a little extra frustration. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Can you post some pics? If it's beryllium copper, don't sand it - it's a heavy metal, and once the dust is inhaled, your body can't process it. It can eventually kill you. The original copper or bronze can safely be sanded and buffed with a cloth wheel. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  16. Exactly! An original dalehead anser vs a cameron 009. What is that 8-10k getting you? Not bashing on the scotties - I collect the studio designs, circa 62's and the old aop's. But... I've never spent over $100-150 on a putter (I like to refurb the old ones). Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. If you're testing balls, gotta throw in the kick x tour z (or whatever they call it)... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. You're already miles ahead of me! I can't wait to see some pics when the good ones come along! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Haha! You have to start somewhere! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. I was a little bit off... just looked, and it's 29 putters for $399. Might be a little pricey for this situation... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. You might need to butcher some old tpm's or something to get a little practice. I recently saw an auction on ebay for about 30 old tpm putters for $300. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. I would agree - considering the small pieces, and small bead size needed to weld a neck, it's gonna take some practice! I've thought about this several times, and always chicken out. I know a few guys who weld, but it's usually on cars or machinery and the welds get ground smooth. What we're looking at here is tiny, detailed art. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. I agree - if they just came in a drawstring bag, I might buy new balls. I use those sort of bags for everything. Little cardboard boxes inside of bigger cardboard boxes? Not so much... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
