  1. I would probably say: Gloves Tees Epoxy Grip tape Grips Golf Balls
  2. If I were to pin a set of irons that I think fit this mold perfectly (also happens to be a set I desperately wish I had enough money to purchase) it would be the Ping Blueprint S/T irons. They look so incredibly good, and from reviews that have come, I have seen everyone rave about them.
  3. Super excited to be starting a wedge build here soon. Found some Ping Glide 4.0 wedge heads that I will be putting on gloss black KBS customer tour shafts. Will show when I am done!
  4. Hey Jamie, I have been wanting to comment on this for days now. Mostly because after being selected as one of the testers I did as all good golfers do and sought out the intelligence of the YouTube world regarding how these irons did. From the videos that I saw the only issue that any of those individuals (Peter Finch & Matt Fryer) stated was the sole interaction. In their assessment of the irons, there was concern that the irons created a lot of digging due to the sole and leading edge being sharp. I do feel that to some degree they are right a little bit. Let me explain. When you look at the sole of the MB's for example you will see a very standard sole with standard bounce and the leading edge is pretty square. Which for softer conditions could be more difficult for softer turf conditions. However, I feel personally that these clubs (speaking of the MBs, the CBs will be better in this department) have really good turn interaction. As good or better than most if not all irons I have played. Some may struggle with the MB's in the turf interaction department though, if for instance, you have more of a steep swing this could cause an issue. Yet this is not exclusive to the Haywood irons. "Blade" irons in general are more difficult to hit off the turf for most golfers and those with a steep swing. For me, I don't see an issue with the turf interaction. Mostly because the leading edge and larger footprint of both sets just give me so much damn confidence. I do have one caveat to this question though and that is one thing, V-SOLE. Of any iron set, I have ever played (TM Rac OS, Cobra AMP, TM P760 & 770) the Haywoods I can honestly say beat out these previous irons sets when it comes to how well they play out of the turf. Now, if you bring my Srixon iron set to the party that is where the fight begins. That V-SOLE on the Zx7 MKII & Z Forged II set is incredible. There have been times in the past playing with them where I don't even recall grass being there on some shots. Now, more tests need to be done, and I plan on a full 18 round play through with the two irons head to head to compare near the end of the test, but suffice it to say that for now, the Srixon irons do edge the Haywoods ever so slightly in this way. I am excited to continue answering questions for you all and add more to my post here in the coming days! For a comparison of the Haywood and Srixon soles see below: Srixon 8 Iron (Z Forged II "V-SOLE") Haywood 8 Iron
  5. Man life has been so crazy lately but I cannot wait for this! I am hoping to do better this year!
  6. I couldn't agree more! I coach high school kids and they are always telling me, "I want to have <<place pro name here>> swing!" When in reality we should just focus on fundamentals and feel. That's all Scotty says he does and look at how well that is working out haha.
  7. I second this! I feel like Homa to me looks like the modern-day Couples. Smooth with lots of speed and distance. In all honesty, I feel like Homa is the closest pro to how I would like to replicate my swing as well.
  8. I have found iron shafts more and more fascinating as I go on and the fact that they can do with steel what they can do. For me, I have been massively impressed with the Project X LZ shafts. I love the feel, and the way it loads, and the flight is perfect! What I found even more interesting was how the shafts in the Haywood irons are. The KBS Tour (X-Stiff), performs just as well if not better in some ways. I was a little nervous when Josh said that would fit me the best. However, now that I have played a little bit with them I love them! KBS may have sold me for future shaft purchases.
  9. Cut = +3 Amateur = Christo Lamprecht This is so cool! I love the Masters and I can't wait to see how this goes!
  10. Hey Spys! I apologize I have not been able to post in a while. I had a horrendous work week this last week and some personal issues that came up. However, I did get to test the irons and I did get the first impressions piece done. I look forward to creating a part 2 where I have created a video going over a lot more details. Happy Monday and Solar Eclipse day! If you need to stay indoors read this update!
  11. Spent some time in my garage messing with the irons a bit to get a good "feel" for them as I would be hitting the range hopefully tomorrow or the day after. Don't worry I have not forgotten my next post. I am working on all the details extensively as I want to share a lot with you all. I will say that the irons are incredible. Sure, there will be some honeymoon phasing in here but I am enjoying them so much. After getting a feel for them I hit five straight with some Dry shampoo on the face. Needless to say, we are getting well acquainted. *All five shots hit with 8 iron. Personally my favorite club in the bag.
  12. Right there with you. Been able to hit some in the garage and I am very impressed. Much more to come on that. Hoping that tomorrow through to the end of the week I can get some range in along with some numbers, and if all goes well maybe a round in as well.
  13. Hey all, went on a last-minute easter trip with the fam. I will be posting all my thoughts, videos, and pics here tomorrow/Tuesday!
  14. Now Rob I did count 7 clubs haha. So Josh gave the grips to me (Kudos to him). However, I prefer the SuperStroke Traxion Tour Oversize. They are my gamers on my Srixon's so I will be gripping them this evening. Then I will post a first Impression vid.
  15. Alright, Geez everyone haha. I didn't think a teaser would cause so much contention hahaha. Here is a little more for you all. I will be doing a video/picture review here in my actual post. Also, I Will add more photos here in a bit. Making dinner with the wife and kids!
  16. Love seeing those Srixon irons! Wish I could get out and hit mine more. Weather is so annoying!
  17. I can't help but feel like the Meridian putter would have done better had they tried the "Meridian" Cut.
  18. Why, oh why can't these be coming sooner?! So excited to share an unboxing with you all. I know I have yet to post an update but it is coming. I would love to add to my review my fitting experience and working with Josh.
  19. There is nothing that is going to take my Qi10 LS from me. I have been hitting it far too well! Can't wait for the new Virtual Tour to begin!!!
  20. So after seeing the following YouTube video about the Sub 70 Pro V2 4-wood, it is all I can think about. Seriously I am in endless thought about it and after sending in some trade-in clubs I can not wait to get my hands on one. Also, talked to some of the Sub 70 reps and they will be getting the new '24 UST Mamiya V2 shafts in and I just can't help but feel that the combination of the head with that shaft will be electric! I wish April would be here already!
  21. For me, I have tested so many different grips (i.e. Iomic, Golf Pride, Lamkin, Jumbo Max, & Winn), but the one I keep coming back to is SuperStroke. Specifically the Traxion Tour for swing grips and the Zenergy 3.0 for putter. I love the no-taper and I have just always felt they are the best for tackiness and comfort. No matter how many time I change the grip I always seem to come back to Superstroke.
  22. Congrats testers! Certainly looking forward to hearing how this review goes!
  23. Played in the VCT tourney this last week and made some really good notes while out and playing with the Srixons. Excited to compare those notes to those of the Haywoods. Also, I will be posting my experience with the fitting process with Josh at Haywood this week. Excited to share the process we went through and all the information that came out of it. I am so excited to get those irons in hand I just can't take the apprehension!
