Do You Own A Launch Monitor?
Dpersad replied to GolfSpy_APH's topic in Training Aids, GPS Devices, Apps, Accessories & More!
I dont currently have a launch monitor. My dream is to set up a sim with a screen, projector and monitor in my garage someday. It's not imminent. My requirements would be: accurate, offers club and ball date, and can be used by right and left handers without having to move the unit. If price was no object, I'd probably lean to the uneekor overhead unit. Second choice would be the full swing kit. -
Where is this place?

As the lucky beneficiary of getting to play Spanish Bay, I would say Spyglass Hill might even be a better course. Of course, if you love links golf (I don't), Spyglass is a gem.... and the views are incredible. But the combination of seaside views and then old growth forest on spyglass is hard to beat.

It was my 40th birthday this year. My wife (with help from my parents and my in-laws) planned and sent the two of us on a trip down to Pebble Beach. In the span of 5 days I got to play Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill, and Pebble Beach. That pretty much took care of my #1 bucket list course. Obviosuly Augusta would be the new #1. Cypress Point not far behind. But neither of those are in any way realistic. My next top choice would probably be Fairmont Chateau Whistler golf course in British Columbia Canada. I love with mountain golf, or Seaside golf, and being stuck in the central prairies of Canada leave me with very few opportunities for either. The Old course would be cool, but all things being equal, I've never been a lover of links golf. I was in Ireland and Scotland last summer. I golfed Killarney in Ireland and the scenery was incredible. On a lake with the hills in the background. I suppose my new #1 (realistic) bucket list course would have to be Kapalua. Followed closely by Wailea. Hawaiian golf? Sign me up!

This is tough to answer as it varies wildly from one day to the next. Some days my game is on and I would say I lose 1.5 balls a round. Some days my game is off and I use lose 4 balls meaning I put 5 into play that round. Difficulty of course also comes into play. It doesn't happen often that I am removing a ball from play due to wear and tear. I usually lose them before that happens. But I would say last year I had maybe 3-4 balls ALL SEASON that lasted long enough to have to be discarded due to gouges and scuffs. Great question though.

I keep hearing about how a 7 wood is a cheat code. Now I want one. Bad. And my hybrids are from a decade ago. Old TaylorMade RocketBallz. I’d love to replace those with some newer technology as well. But I’d only do one hybrid instead of two I think Other than that I’m quite happy with my set.

Hey everyone, MGS does a great job of testing all kinds of equipment and balls, for various things all the time. I have a question that I haven't seen an answer for anywhere. How long does a golf ball have to be submerged in water before the performance is altered? I'm sure, like many of you, you've grabbed the odd ball out of a small lake/pond/creek and thought, "Sweet, free Pro-V1!" only to proceed to hit it into the woods the next tee. I've always been told that maybe the ball was just water-logged. Does submerging a ball in water for an extended time impact performance? If yes, how so? (distance? trajectory? direction?) How much time must it be in there before it's affected? I would love to see this added to the type of testing done in ball lab. Purely for interests sake. Does anyone have any info on this?
