Beginners and Weathered Amateurs alike have a tendency to under think golf balls they “need” to use. I admit when I started it was whatever’s cheap because “Hey, I’m gonna lose them anyway!” In all seriousness researching the ball you want to use is just as important as club selection. Some may spin more, spin less, feel softer, it’s these things that dictate ball choice for your game. You slice the ball a lot off the tee, choose a ball that is designed to not spin as much. Need a ball that gives you better control around the greens use a softer ball that is designed to promote spin. Granted this seems easy, but even the best golf balls can be manipulated with bad golf techniques, i.e. out to in backswing, and excessive club face angle being open. The point is do your research and pick a ball that will help your game not one that’s keeps you from progressing, and remember it’s always you and sometimes the gear you use. What’s your take?
