  1. bought a G430 max driver and it finally came in today. I have 9 hole league and going to give it a whirl in it. This may replace my stealth, fitting said it should but I also think my swing has been off. Also have a paradym hybrid coming in since I struggle to hit my 4i.
  2. Hello, I got fitted a couple weeks ago and ended up getting the new Ping G430 max driver and a paradym 4H club. Both stock except for the grips, which i could have easily gotten from a local shop. Anyways the fitter said it's usually 2 weeks to get these but it's now been a week and a half and they've yet to ship. Any idea how long both Ping and callaway usually take to ship? I called the fitter and he was going to follow up and e-mail me once they shipped but nothing yet. is there a chance something wasn't in stock? anyone know of delays with these clubs currently? thank you
  3. hahaha i got paired up with this old man. The course was a tad slow but I wouldn't say terribly slow and the group in front of us had another 2 groups ahead. I think they were maybe half a hole behind but at one point this old man ran over to ask if we could play through. Man the nerves kicked in because the group was annoyed, since there was really no where to go, and they all stared as we hit. Luckily i hit it in the fairway but that was a scary moment ha
  4. I got free sensors through TM because I had bought irons ad a driver within a year. Installed them and tried the free trial of the app and i took them off and cancelled after one round. For me the UI was not very easy to use and it seemed way too much for what I was looking for. The Sensors as well didn't quite feel as accurate either. I'm a simple man so the swing U app works perfect with my apple watch. I get the front mid and back yardages and usually it's pretty accurate. I used to have a Garmin but once i learned my watched worked as well, i kept using that.
  5. Original pair of shoes were spiked but currently just spikeless. I am very heavy footed and noticed spiked left a big mark on green and grass in general. Also, the course around here are slippery so didn't have a need. I have a pair of Olukai spikeless and the last Puma ignites for waterproof, both spikeless and very comfortable.
  6. Recently went to a full bag fitting and actually got to test my current stealth's with the P790s and it wasn't even close. The stealths were easily better for me. I am a high handicap though and the distance and forgiveness is huge. I thought the P790s were for those mid to lower handicaps? at least that's how that was presented to me. If you hit the middle of the face, consistently, then the P790s will likely feel better. I do not! The P790's did not feel forgiving and mishits definitely gave a lot of feedback to the hands. The Stealth, even very bad mishits went a ways and didn't veer too ridiculous off track. The stealths are definitely chunkier looking but i like they clean look and they look good at address. All in all, I love my stealth irons. I also tried some Mizuno's, the Callaway paradym and apex irons and the ping G430's and none felt as good.
  7. Hello Everyone, My name is Jose and I live on the beautiful central coast of California, where we golf year round. I picked up a golf club about 9 years ago. I can't recall why I did but i do remember that one of my first rounds was at Cypress ridge Golf course and also it was the first time meeting my future father in law. I played terrible, couldn't hit the ball and gave the course a big haircut but I actually had fun. After that I spent a lot of time watching videos and practicing at our local range. I did improve quite a bit but also never really played so I definitely hit a wall. I consistently shot like 120ish but only played every few months. I didn't play for 2 years or so during covid and finally committed, in november of 2021. So a year and a half later and now I shoot between 95-100, this is still only going once a week. I did hit my goal to hit 90 or below when I shot an 89 at Monarch dunes golf course. I've taken a few lessons and I have gotten much better but I always try to do too much which ends up hurting me on the score card. I know I have the potential to shoot low 80s but I would be happy to consistently play bogey ball. I recently got fitted for a complete bag so equipment shouldn't be an excuse anymore. I'm working on my swing off the tee and getting my short game dialed in. I'm very fortunate to live in a place where I can golf all year long and actually looking forward to traveling and bringing my clubs along for the ride. I love food, golf, movies and just meeting new people. I am a husband and father of a teenager, 37 year old and excited to join this community. As far as my bag, Taylormade marketing had me early on so it's all TM stuff until this bag fitting: Driver (currently)- TM stealth HD in 12°, regular flex but has a 45g shaft. No clue what shafts but switching to a Ping G430 Max 10.5° but lofted up to 12. 55g shaft and still regular flex Woods-stealth 5W, regular flex and just stock. I just added a 4H because i struggle to hit my 5i and 4i. The 4H is the callaway paradym, R flex and stock everything else. Irons- TM stealth, regular flex with 1" longer shafts and 2° upright heads Wedges- P and AW stealth standard lofts with 1" longer and 2° upright. I added a 56° hi-toe wedge all stock and I love it. Putter- MySpyder GT putter, 34" with that thick super stroke grip Ball- I have some TM TP5's that I love but I use one per round, if I lose it I switch out to my "cheaper balls". I have a handful of tour response balls that I bought but don't quite like the feel so using those until i'm out. My second favorite ball though is the TM soft response. I like the soft feel, it's cheaper but feels like I can control it more than other balls, in the same price range. I know callaway had a 3pc chrome soft that was around the same $29.99 price but i can't find it anymore. And that's it! biggest thing I am working on is my driver staying in play off the Tee. If i can do this then I feel good about my overall game but it's hard to start 3 off the tee or out of bounds and just take strokes getting back in play. I'm working on shortening my swing and hopefully that helps a bit. I look forward to participating more in the forums! Jose
  8. It went well. We ended up keeping the irons I have because they were pretty spot on with the minimal fitting I got for those. Driver we ended up going with the ping G430, lose to the same distance but a lot more in the fairway so that’ll be nice. Got a 4H since I struggle with long irons and everything else in the bag was good to stay. Minimal damage but the fitter was great. Now to work on my swing
  9. Wednesday league yesterday i played very poopy. More so in the short game, chips were much worse from last week. Body has been feeling tired and back tight but no excuses, i just tried to get too cute with shots instead of taking the safe approaches. Hit 3 bunkers and one took 3 to get out. On the positive, i mainly stayed in the fairway off the tee and had a lot of close chip ins, but those misses ran for long putt attempts. Excited to get to my fitting on saturday and know i have the right equipment and just work on the little details
  10. Congrats to the selected testers! Excited to see the reviews.
  11. Thank You, this is probably the best I have felt about golf in a while. I finally broke 90 this year as well but i wasn't as happy because i could've easily shot like 84ish but instead shot 89.
  12. Had the local 9 hole league yesterday and played a monster round, for me. Shot +5 for the nine holes and got flagged yesterday and today because, as a team with strokes, we shot -14 and the closest other team was -5. I normally shoot 95-100 in a par 72 with potential at low 80s but always chasing vs playing the safe shot. First 2 rounds I had been playing so badly in the league, so much that I was now getting 2 strokes per hole. I felt super relaxed yesterday and was taking my time making the correct choice and just had seemed to get all the bounces. I even holed out from 110 out for birdie. So after averaging like 54 on a par 35 I shot a 40 and now i'm sure everyone thinks i cheated still on a high from that 9 holes and excited to keep it going saturday at a full 18.
  13. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm getting fit at golftec next saturday and excited for it. I am doing a full bag because, although I bought irons last year, I was never fitted and curious to see if there are better fits for me. The advertised a 2-1/2 hour fitting for the full bag so i need to stretch well before hitting. Hopefully my fitter is as good as yours.
  14. So i've come across this a few times where the course just sends people out without intervals, as soon as you can hit you can go. Now, our group usually stays with pace but being casual we don't necessarily feel comfortable hitting if it'll be close to the people in front. We don't take extra long, and if someone will definitely not reach then they hit first. Usually the people in front of us have like 2 more foursomes in front of them anyways so it's not like we'll be able to go anywhere. The problem comes from groups behind us where they're getting frustrated and start hitting near or into us or telling us to go. If we're playing slow we try and let people through but when there's literally no where to go, is there a "best" way to handle this? Usually we talk to them and they realize that there's no where to go but other times they don't get it and demand we hit into people or as soon as it's 5 yards clear. Are you supposed to hit into people and wait 5 mins at your spot for people to get off the green and hit ASAP, fully knowing you'll be waiting on the tee for them because they'll also be waiting for the group in front? FYI, usually the marshalls don't really do much with groups that are hitting 2-3 balls and taking a while to try and find their ball. Hopefully this makes sense, thanks
  15. I've been lucky enough to not be hit or hit anyone but i'm sure it'll happen. I have had guys who hit and it lands 20 yards behind us, as we are trying to swing but usually it's just the one time. The worst is when you get guys who start getting pissed at pace of play and want to hit as soon as they can, fully knowing that the course is packed ahead and there's no point in going ASAP.
