  1. Cut Number Will Be: +2 Highest Round of the Week Will Be: 84
  2. Got a round in yesterday afternoon, very hot and windy conditions. After the first 9 I was sitting at a 44, not great but not the worst. Back 9, I had figured out my driver giving me some better scoring opportunities... however as much as i'd love that to be the plan, and to stick to the plan, I went with plan B. That plan is me under or overhitting and missing greens. However, it gave me a chance to really work my wedges. I just recently bought new wedges so i was actually quite excited to play those shots. I wasn't frustrated, mad, or let emotions of my mishits get to me at all. Just looked at it as an opportunity. Finished that back 9 at 41. Total on the day 85. I'm usually somewhere in the high 70's-mid 80's, so with the conditions I was content with my round. There is always something to take away from each round. Its the one great shot, its the easily avoidable mistakes, its the one long putt, the hole you played last time terribly but this time made a birdie on, there is always something. When the game stops being fun, it's time for me to stop playing. I don't see that happening anytime soon so until then i'll take it one shot at a time. There's always and always will be, the next shot! Good luck out there, stay positive, and may the rounds be low! Cheers ️
  3. I agree with @RickyBobby_PR i'm not sure if one is more beneficial than the other, but both are crucial. Playing a driver not fitted to you, that isn't consistent for your swing, swing speed, shaft flex, etc. is only hurting your game off the tee. With that being said, you'll get to do a lot more work with your irons haha. Which then, having the right irons would be crucial. I think there is a good balance to both. I got fitted for a driver after never being fitted previously and just playing whatever i felt looked good and was affordable. Right off the shelf, no matter the shaft flex or anything. During that fitting I was amazed to see the data that backed up every change ( different brand, different lofts, different shafts) and at the end of it i thought for sure i narrowed down "THE ONE!" Time went by, several months for that matter, and i actually had never bought that driver that i thought was for sure the right fit. Mainly due to it being at the end of the season, and living in SD i knew i had several months to go before i'd be stepping back onto the tee box again. When the season came back around, I wanted to confirm previous data and make sure it was still the right fit. Turns out, it was not. Tried several more again and ended up moving from the TM Stealth to the Callaway Paradym. For me it was a feel thing. Now i couldn't be happier. More consistent and happier than i have ever been with my game off the tee. Believe me, fitted or not, you'll still find a tree or two i was also fitted for irons at the same time as my driver. Numbers were there, felt good, and could see the gain compared to the irons in my bag. I also did not purchase those after the fitting. Still playing my current irons i have been for years with hopes of finding the right irons for me by the end of this season. i guess i say all that to say this, even if you are fitted, give it time, get fitted again. Just like the golf game for many, things are ever changing and confirmation never hurts. Invest in your game, you may just be surprised at the end results! Good luck and hope you find the right clubs for you! One stroke at a time, may you shoot low my friend! Cheers ️
  4. For me, yes! I've played many sports growing up, very competitive, and thought i enjoyed playing them... until I got into golf. Now that i have gotten older, the other sports have faded and I specifically concentrate on golf. If i'm not playing golf, i'm watching golf. If i'm not watching golf, i'm looking at equipment. I'm reading articles, researching, buying stuff i probably don't need but can be another tool added to my bag. No sport has ever been as challenging yet enjoyable as golf has been for me. I was blessed with athleticism but there is so much more to this game than just some fast twitch muscles and given ability. I think golf has to be one of the only sports where people can practice and not get any better. Or shoot the greatest round of their life one day, and their worst the next time out. The chase is real and i'll keep running even if there is no finish line! I'm like a dog chasing a ball, really is no winner, its an endless game and i'll keep playing until i'm forced to quit!
  5. Must be a "Rowland" thing! I recently did some upgrading to my bag as well. It had to be the age of my clubs as the clear reason for my over drawn drives, my mishit iron shots, and my 3 putts haha so to a fitting I went. I have never been a gear junkie or got into the hype of the latest and greatest, maybe due to the fact that in my younger years, I was unable to afford the luxuries the game had to offer. It was what I could afford and they got the job done. Now that I am grown, live comfortable, and can enjoy the finer things, i will say having the proper equipment helps and also makes the game more enjoyable. That's not to say that the clubs are the cure all. As in any sport, the fundamentals are detrimental and a must. The upgrades in the bag are just another excuse to go have some fun on the course! My old WITB: Driver- Cobra BioCell 10.5°- stock stiff shaft Irons- Nike Covert 2.0 Putter- Ray Cook (cheapie rock roller) Wedges- Lazarus (Cheap amazon 3 wedge set)- stock shafts *My current WITB Driver- Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 8° lowered down to 7° with X-Stiff Kai'li White 60 shaft 3 Wood- Srixon ZX with X-Stiff Riptide shaft Irons- Nike Covert 2.0 stiff flex Wedges- Cleveland Zipcore Full face 54, 58, 64 with tour spinner shafts Putter- Odyssey White Hot Versa 12 Clubs really do matter at times and being fitted to your game. I can honestly say I have drastically improved over the past few months. I used to never break 80 ( usually low to mids) now i have mutliple rounds where i have broke 80 and it feels great! I don't say that to toot my own horn, just shocked how much proper equipment can actually make a difference! I have become obsessed with the game, and excited to see where the game takes me. Been playing for years but having that one shot per round that keeps you coming back for more never gets old! Enjoy your new clubs and I hope those "four to five strokes" are vanished once you get them new clubs dialed in! Give an update on how you like your irons, currently in the market and will complete my set. Just havent found the ones yet but hoping to find them soon! Good luck, one shot at a time, and may the rounds be low! Cheers ️
