  1. So I was talking to my coworker (who doesnt watch any golf); I was telling him that the Ryder Cup was on last weekend. I was surprised to know that he had never heard of it. As I said, he doesnt watch any golf, but he will watch a little of the Masters when its on. As I am explaining the Ryder Cup, I say that its the "biggest" event in golf. He says that it cant be since he doesnt know about it; that the biggest event has to be The Masters since more non-golf people (Americans) probably know about The Masters and not the Ryder Cup. I tell him that the Ryder Cup is more important among golfers. He asks his other golfing friends and they also say The Masters. Is he right? which event is "bigger"?
  2. In one of my games, the only scores that count towards your "handicap" are scores that you posted in thaf specific league. This is not necessarily the best option as people can take a break from the league, get a little better, then come back and play, it does stop people from cheating the normal handicap system. One way you could help this is to only count the top 5 or 10 scores out of the latest in this league. Like how GHIN does it. This way, a player cant just purposely tank a round where hes out of the money to improve his averages. In another league im in, we have a committee since its a large group through the club. A player has been kicked out before because of suspected sandbagging. Maybe yall could do a vote. If its through the club, the pros should be able to handle this. Use the USGA probability chart for tournament score odds. They tell you the odds that each handicap will shoot better than "even". Set up a maximum "odd" that a player cant exceed over 2 or 3 rounds and then kick them out if they break it. Ive attached it here
  3. 1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? - Ive been playing for about 20-25 years (started very young so its hard to determine when I started "playing) - My normal score is around an 80. Ill break 80 regularly but then shoot nothing but 85 for a couple weeks. My handicap is a 5.0 2. What do you love about golf? - That it is a very unique challenge. Its you vs yourself and nature. You have to build physical and mental strengths to play this game. That it is different everytime you play and theres no way to master it but there are plenty of ways to do it well 3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? - I did not. I just came here from the youtube videos 4. Where are you from? What is your home course? - Im from Charlotte, NC but my home course is now Pine Tree Country Club in Birmingham, AL 5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? - Its very hot during the summer which is fine, the winters arent horrible so you can play year round, but it rains a lot in the beginning of the year 6. What do you do for a living? - Im an Architect 7. How’d you pick your user name? - Its my old gokart racing name
