  1. I'm retired, so if I'm playing with friends I have to work around their schedule. Otherwise I play solo when the itch needs to be scratched. Thinking about joining a league this year barring any surgeries.
  2. Thank you! I've been holding off on the inflator as I don't have access to a compressor but need to try different less tapered grips since my bottom hand tends to swell up during the round.
  3. Has anyone tried this with a cordless 18v tire inflator with any success?
  4. Just ordered the Driver. Can't beat the return policy.
  5. @Rob Person Rob, if you ever have the desire and opportunity to join your brother at one of his events, you might be surprised at what actually takes place. @william_abu William, it's almost the same as I mentioned to Rob, If you can find a clinic/seminar near you, ask if you can attend as an observer? No guarantees on how they'll respond. @DaveP043 Dave, you have first hand knowledge on Adaptive Golf through your own eyes and from your wife's volunteering at The Adaptive Open. Please send my thanks to your wife as I don't really expect there to be enough volunteers to work these events. Hopefully by 2025/26 I'll be good enough to qualify, and attend the Adaptive Open and thank you personally. @MIgowfer59 Steve, congratulations on receiving your Coaching Certification! It appears you've dug in deep on Adaptive Golf and your aim to help others is extremely admirable. Thank You! At your first chance to coach an Adaptive Clinic, I wouldn't be surprised if you became "In Demand". Hopefully we'll cross paths somewhere down the road. Wish you all the best! Happy New Year!!!
  6. Hi, my name is Scott, and I'm an alcoholic.........................we'll get back to this meeting later? I'm 63 year old RH golfer. I'm also a left below knee amputee since 2007 as well as having ADHD my entire life. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I started playing golf in June of this year thanks to a neighbor of mine (yeah, thanks a whole lot Jake!), and my score has always hovered around 120-125. But now I count every penalty regardless. What do you love about golf? The Golf Cart! I would never play this game without it. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Must've been searching for something and decided to stay. Not yet. Where are you from? What is your home course? Poughkeepsie, NY. Pronounced po-kip-c. Home course is on the Vassar College Campus. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Several courses nearby. Too many courses nearby. What do you do for a living? Retired. Had my foot crushed by a loaded dump truck at work in 2007. How’d you pick your user name? scolist has been my user name since my first computer in 2000. Profile pic is me sticking my head out of the top turrett of a WWII B-17 Bomber on my 47 birthday, six weeks before my work injury. Retired from skydiving in 2019. WITB Bag: Acuity Driver: Warrior 10*, Cobra ZL Encore 8.5* Irons: 4-9, PW, SW Dunlop OS Tour Special. PW was forgotten somewhere. FW: 3,5 XPC 2000 Hyb: Cobra LTDx 2/3 (only club I actually paid for), TM Rescue 5W Putter: Ray Cook SR500
  7. @MIgowfer59 I'm 63 so we're in the same age group, and I have balance issues as well because I have no sensation of where my foot is even if i'm looking at it. I adapt to pressure points on my residual limb, and muscle memory. I could be standing on your foot without even knowing it. Kudo's to you on wanting to compete! Last week the USGA announced the 2025/26 US Adaptive Open near Washington, DC which is about a 5 hour drive for me and I would love to compete but it's highly unlikely I could get my handicap low enough to qualify. I'm around 50+ right now with 15 rounds of golf experience and everything would have to click in a short period of time for that to happen. Not sure what you mean re: "other resources"? I do have plenty of golf courses close by though. The clinics I attended were put on by Rehab Centers and not limited to amputees only. I found out about those through eaga.org. They have clinics from Maine to Florida.
  8. I am one. A below knee amputee of the left leg, and I just started playing "fetch the ball" in June of this year. It's been a challenge on both fronts. I did attend three adaptive golf clinics this past Spring which is probably why I took up this sport/game.
