About two years ago I purchased the Mevo plus. I was hitting into a net and used an old flat screen TV as the display. The Mevo plus worked flawlessly for me. The data was good but it was difficult to visualize the course by hitting into a net. Six months ago I added a 10x8 impact screen and projector. This kicked the fun factor and usable data way up. It was easier for me to visualize my target line. As such, it really helped me work on face-to-target, swing path, and face-to-path. Be aware - for radar systems ensure you meet the minimum distances for your particular system. I’m running 8 feet from radar to ball with an 11 foot flight to the impact screen. I’m also using the RCT balls. Mine works great with this setup. -
If I am in a technical mood, it is guys at Athletic Motion Golf. Well produced videos with clear data and examples to back up their instruction / drills. Now - can I apply this instruction? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes down a rabbit hole. If I’m having full swing issues, Shawn Clement will get me back on task quicker than anyone. Simple clear instruction. He gets me away from thinking “mechanical golf swings” and helps me refocus on the “task at hand”.

I use the Sun Mountain C-130 bag. It has separate dividers and each partition has enough room for oversized grips. It does keep my clubs organized. The most important thing for me is I can easily and quickly identify if a club is missing. Also, from time to time I will sub a 5W or a hybrid or even a driving iron. The dividers identify if I accidentally left one too many clubs in the bag.

Our age is similar and I also have the achy finger issues from using standard size grips. It’s great to hear the grips are looking promising. I guess I should bite the bullet and invest in the JMXs. I’m sure my hands will thank me. Best of luck with Kirk’s swing method. I used it for about 5 months and was getting great results. Very straight. I’ve had a bad trail shoulder for many, many years (not related to Kirk’s swing). But it seemed this type swing was aggravating it. I certainly wish I could have stayed with. I’m sort of stuck with a body driven swing.

Great question. I do believe putters are the most personal clubs in the bag. I play with buddies that putt great with $50 putters and others that cannot find the hole with a $500 piece of equipment. And everything in between. I have tried the Lab Mezz.1 and does feel sweet. Anyway, I currently game a Bettinardi BB 56. I also have a Seemore Model T nipping at its heels. I do have a rule - I will sell or trade irons and drivers in a second. I never get rid of a putter. You never know when that old friend may earn it’s way back in the bag.

For the past 5-6 years I’ve used a Garmin S60 watch, Arccos, and a Leupold rangefinder. The watch worked fine. To use some features while playing took my mind off the course and more on the watch. So I used the basic yardage screen only. The Arccos app worked great. Provides great analytics on club yardages and weak areas of your game. Leupold makes great optics. My original Leupold screen began fading after a number of years. Well out of warranty, I called Leupold to compare repair costs vs replacement. Even out of warranty, they replaced unit without charge. Great customer service. I’ve recently been testing my Apple Watch using the Golfshot + Watch App. So far I’m loving it, but I’m only about 1 month in.

I used the Cobra One Length irons and One Length hybrid for about 18 months about 4 years ago. I found it easier to make solid contact from SW through hybrid than with a standard set. The consistent swing plane proved very repeatable even with longer time spans between rounds. My problem was at each of the set. At the “longer” end of the set my yardage gaps were too tight. Only about 4 yards between the 4 and 5 iron. At the “short” end the gapping was good but my wedges were crazy high. Okay on a calm day, but inconsistent with wind. I passed the clubs along to my son. He plays infrequently and practices even less. These have proven to be a great set for him. He is not overly concerned with yardage gaps. He just wants the feels of solid contact.
