I've been a Garmin guy for a long time. I have the R10 Approach, s12 watch, I use one of there range finders, I also use the depth sounders, sonar, and radar on the boat! Hard to deny that they have been in the business of telling you where you are, or what is coming for a long time, and have been doing it well. I trust the products, but as far as the simulator, I'd be open to trying something new..

MyGolfSpy X Bridgestone Mindset Sampling Opportunity

What a topic! While everyone mentions slow play, for me it's time spent putting in particular. When you watch each player in a 4some take 3 min on each put, standing over the ball, standing over the green measuring break, and all of them 3 put, with the same time on each putt...PLEASE Other things. groups with carts and walkers. Rangers that tell you to speed up with nowhere to go, anyone taking videos for IG or whatever...

Love this topic, it's a pet peeve of mine. I have had way too many bad experiences where they really are just trying to sell you a club. Can't fault them for that though, it's their job! Live and learn. The internet is your friend here. Have a goal in mind and research the clubs prior to the fitting. Have an idea of what the clubs will do, shafts too, to meet the goal in mind. Know your numbers. Find someone local that has been in business for a while if you can, steer away from the big box stores and retail chains. Do not rush, and after you find something you like, that meets the goals, look around, deals are always found.

You should really heck out the used section for Callaway. Great deals, especially after new clubs come out. As far as buying one year old version, absolutely! The tech never really changes that much year over year. 4 years I start to evaluate and see a valuable enough reason to buy again. Head to head, last yr vs new, I'd be willing to bet you see no difference in distance or dispersion when evaluating the same model line.

Driver fitting at PGA Tour Superstore: Free vs. Paid
Mauchan replied to berkeleybob's topic in General Equipment Talk
I've never had a good experience at the box stores, Edwin Watts, PGA SuperStore, or Club Champion. The goal is to sell you something there. It was frustrating to say the least. So much time and money spent for clubs when they could have been much better, with not much more effort. I did find a fitter at a local course that was honest, took the time to understand the goals, and time to fit correctly. I think you would be better served finding a small shop that can take the time. I also want to say, have a goal in mind. If your Ping is a fairway finder, what do you hope to accomplish? If this is truly exploratory, take the free and go have some fun. If you find that you see greater results and a reason to buy a new club, go find a fitter locally with that club in mind. You can absolutely nerd out on shafts, tip trimming, weighting, counterbalance, grips etc and a good fitter will know what to do to accomplish the goal with the best results. I've never seen that any any of the aforementioned stores. -
I played a TM Stealth and loved the distance I got with it but switched to Paradym because it was far more forgiving and a fairway finder for me. I lost about 10 yards, but gained accuracy. That said, it took me trying several shafts to get my ball flight the way I wanted. No matter what shaft i tried with the TM Stealth, I always had issues with control and consistency.
