  1. I have had an Odyssey Backstroke which is a center shafted putter for about 10 years now and love it. Never going to use anything but a center shafted putter. Ball never skips, putter never twists. If you have a straight back and through stroke it's ideal. Center shafted makes the most sense, balance is perfect. They can be hard to find but well worth the search. I lucked out on my Backstroke putter, had been looking for well over a year and got one finally, haven't seen another one since then. Could use a new cover though, LOL.
  2. Hello from Canada, London Ontario to be specific. Been playing since I was a kid (very long time ago) but got more serious about it around 12 years ago. Currently using a Cobra F-max offset driver at 10.5, Taylormade 5 wood, a 7 wood whose maker I cannot remember, Edison 3 iron, set of Cleveland halo launchers, 5-PW. Tommy Armour 56 degree, Odyssey Backstroke putter and an empty space in the bag for whatever extra club I feel will help me on any particular day (but never again a 60 degree lob wedge, LOL). Mid handicapper, around 15/16 last time I looked. Currently help run a league up here where I handle scoring for it. Fun league we play 18 every other week, sometimes every week, at a different golf course each time (lots of them around here). Found Golf Spy completely by accident while surfing the web one day and joined immediately. Enjoy the Forums and Testers Wanted features. My user name is my first name and part of last name with a number, nothing special about it really. Take an annual golf trip, sometimes more than one, this year heading to Myrtle Beach on April 8 for a week of golf, might also be a Niagara Falls trip this year and a trip to the east coast of Canada for golf. Member of London Golf Club which is a discount club that gets me a discount at about 30-35 area courses, which I take advantage of a couple of times a week during the season, very good deal, second year belonging. Our league has a home club, Willow Tree Golf in Strathroy ON, tight challenging course, not very long but lots of trees and as I said very tight, hitting fairways is crucial. What I love about golf is the challenge to myself, you are generally competing against nature (the course) and yourself, to try and improve each time out. I also love the camaraderie of the game, the social aspect of it. Going out with friends, joking around with them, meeting new people who share a love of the game, I simply love all that. I guess that's all for now, ever up this way feel free to say hello and maybe join in for a round. Thanks, Kirk
  3. Been using an Odyssey Backstroke for about 10 years now. Love it. Love a putter with a centreline shaft, like the shaft directly behind the ball as I find it easier to hit without pulling/pushing it to one side. Everyone who has tried it loves it but backstroke type putters are hard to find now. Surprises me a little because I think more putters should have a centerline shaft. seems the logical place to put it to me.
  4. Just bought a set of Cleveland Launchers Halo, loving them so far but only played 1 round with them and still working on ranging them. Making excellent contact though and going to range the full set tomorrow. Ordered them last Friday and got them Saturday morning, was very impressed with the super fast service from where I ordered them. The real test comes next week, off to Myrtle Beach on Sunday for 4 rounds at 4 (hopefully) great golf courses. Playing The Pearl, Long Bay, Blackmoor and Myrtlewood Palmetto. Would appreciate any insights anyone has on these courses. Thanks, Kirk
  5. I have some and to those who say they are looking for shoes that come with them you can buy them on Amazon, they are the elasticized laces with a snap closure, not the ones with a tuning knob, you simply pull on the laces and lock them in place, and replace your laces with them. Love mine, going to buy more for my runners and golf shoes, (4 pairs and counting, 2 spikeless, 1 spiked and 1 waterproof, LOL). https://www.amazon.ca/LOCK-LACES-Elastic-Shoelaces-48-Inch/dp/B007DLVLAW?pd_rd_w=SL1y7&content-id=amzn1.sym.5227a24c-8e93-45c4-815c-d02346cda8bb&pf_rd_p=5227a24c-8e93-45c4-815c-d02346cda8bb&pf_rd_r=Y3FT5FKA3Q4CH4JZ7091&pd_rd_wg=or2W5&pd_rd_r=5b19253d-fc09-47f0-bd0c-ece369f792ac&pd_rd_i=B007DLVLAW&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_grid_rp_0_4_i
  6. Currently using a Tommy Armour 56 degree and a Ben Hogan 52 degree. Thinking of trying the Smithworks wedges this season. Used to have a 60 degree but use an 8 or 9 iron now when that close to the green, 60 degree is just too easy to blade.
