  1. In 2023, my go-to ball was the Chrome Soft X LS for its reduced off-the-tee spin, but it felt too hard around the greens compared to the standard Chrome Soft, which performed better on and around greens. Despite gaming CSXLS for the whole year, my handicap decreased during the year. For 2024, I aim to maintain low spin while retaining a soft feel for short shots. Thus, I've opted for the Titleist AVX (2022 version from a clearance sale), which offers superior feel on short chips and putts. Hopefully, I'll be able to test it on the course once they open.
  2. 2013 Aluminum Futura X is the gaming going into the year. There are three other contenders looming in the storage if the putts do not fall as expected.
  3. Recently hit Ai Smoke Triple Diamond 8 degree at a golf expo and since it was not available at the site ended up ordering Paradym TD 8 deg from Cally preowned at half price. Ai Smoke was super fast compared to current gamer, Epic Mac LS, and "mishits" were super playable based on Trackman feedback. Tested Ventus TR black and blue 6X and got very similar results between. Current gamer shaft is Aldila Tour Green TX with a Oban black X as a backup. Need to identify better shaft for the head in bay before season starts. Hopefully PTD offers similar performance to Ai Smoke or I have made a big dummy. EDIT: Found a picture of Trackman numbers. Almost 10mph ball speed increas to my gamer, however not sure how overcalibrated the expo monitors are.
  4. I wanted to have same shafts in wedges and irons and custom ordered the JAWS with PX6.5s. Gamed 54 (bent from 56) & 60 degree JAWS Full Toe with PX6.5 shafts for two seasons. The fit was fine but ended up disliking the full toe profile on 54. The profile was ok for lob wedge, but the shaft felt harsh at times. I finally transitioned away from them yesterday. Pulled the trigger on a deal for Zipcore 54 & 60 mid sole with DG spinners. I have played similar wedge profiles earlier, and both S400 and X100 profile is familiar from wedges and irons from past. Most likely the clubs will perform unreal in simulator testing, but I'm more interested to see how midsole will compare to full toe lob coming the summer and outdoor usage.
  5. Good to know that Superstroke is doable via air as well, as I have two putters waiting for grip change while learning the method with standard grips.
