  1. Cool! Thanks... no link in the posting by DawgDaddy though.
  2. My research and study really emphasized bending over at 35-45 degrees and standing further away from the ball with a wider-than-normal stance. Feels weird but, I must say, it works!
  3. So there was a notice that they were aerating the greens at the local course that my league plays at. We didn't have the league yesterday due to the holiday but I decided to play anyway. I've played where they had aerated greens before and - while frustrating - you can at least hit a putt. I only played 15 holes since - believe it or not - another men's and women's league actually played, but almost every green looked like this. You really could not hit a putt. Now, I'm not a greenskeeper so I don't know exactly what "aerating" means but this is something I've never seen before. Also - why don't they do this at like 5 am and then brush the sand off ?? BTW - this could have easily gone into the "Rant" thread !!
  4. definitely changing my grips. going back to the CP2... had the CP2 wrap on my old set of irons but I'm going to try the pros this time. like the non tapered grips a lot and feel like I can get handsy with my current grips.
  5. That new driver will look **real** nice in that Srixon bag.... can't wait to see the pics!
  6. If I had the money I'd be all over the Directed Force putter. But 400 bucks for a putter is out of reach for this year....and maybe next! ::
  7. really thinking hard about the Putt Out and Orange Whip. Pleased with my set of clubs so far but I think these 2 training aids will be beneficial.
  8. I played 18 yesterday and the greens were being aerated so I was mostly alone on the course and could try various techniques and shots. I studied up on the one plane swing, watched quite a few videos and tried it out on the course. I was striking the ball very well and hitting some really straight and good shots. I was so impressed that I ordered “The Plane Truth” by Jim Hardy and am dedicating myself to the one plane swing. I actually had been doing (part of) it unconsciously before this year and once I saw myself on video thought it was all wrong so I tried to switch to the two plane with not-so-good results. Now that I understand it much better I was able to make a couple small changes that really helped.
  9. Aha! I sense an opportunity here!!! [emoji6] Sent from my LG-D851 using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  13. @geekinggolf - Looks like you've got a few posts on the forum and you filled out your profile with a pic(!). Keep up the good work and don't let a few comments bother you. I'm sure your enthusiasm was misunderstood. there are good people on here who just want to share their experiences and talk about all things golf. explore around and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay... getting selected to test is just one of many, many great things about this community.
  14. checked out the directed force putter yet? you really should ....
  15. If you ever come to Boston be sure not to ride the rails there.... just sayin'.
  16. Love the 330's ! I use the 330RXS and it is awesome.

  18. ole gray with ole bluey! Good luck and have fun...
  19. Posted a similar question awhile ago... not exactly the same but some interesting responses: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/17272-youre-given-1000-dollars-for-golf-and-you-need-to-start-over/?p=228041 I'd spend 250 bucks (or whatever it costs) to get a full bag fitting and then use the remainder to get a set of sticks.
  20. that's great s&b! It must be tempting seeing all of these chances so I really appreciate and respect your integrity.
  21. had a bio cell + and I liked it. I just wasn't fit for it. Hit some good drives with it though. I think Cobra is certainly one of the best driver brands. Not sure about their other clubs but they make some good drivers.
  22. Whoa! That stinks... good to hear that you found it. I hear the northeast/mid-atlantic is supposed to be BAD this year. Picked one up a few years ago on Nantucket and ended up with the standard "bullseye" where he burrowed in. NOT FUN.
  23. Thanks man... cool avatar... even though I'm a Duke fan!
  24. Funny....some people who may do a search for "best driver 2017" or like a page on Facebook or run across MGS on Instagram or Twitter in some other way see it as a way to "get a (very expensive) free [x]!" .... and are off and running; they don't realize the work you are expected -- rightly so -- to put in so that you can provide true unbiased feedback. If you read/know the MGS mission that is what they are all about - cutting through the crap and getting to the heart of the matter. Is this [x] worth it or not? And that, along with many other things, is why people are here. Don't sell me b.s. about adding an extra 24 yards or any of that other crap, is this worth my hard-earned money or not? One of the best ways to determine that is to put it into the hands of **real** people and let them take it for a drive and have them give a thorough and honest review. As others have said - it is really an honor to be selected as a tester considering the huge number of applications but that is a somewhat of an unwritten contract between you and the staff at MGS. "we want you to test this and we have a certain level of expectation in regards to your feedback". It takes a -- real commitment -- to provide a quality review and if you aren't up for it then you honestly shouldn't bother asking to be selected. And this isn't a hit-and-run either.... you aren't prevented from adding additional feedback after the various stages of the review are complete. Months, years, seasons later - is it still working as you expect, hope, thought? Did it break/fall apart/stop for some reason? Let's hear it! I'm not in marketing and sales but I've read a lot of articles about tricks and things that can be employed to get you to buy so I'm already skeptical. I love coming here and reading the reviews because it really both simplifies things and gets right to the crux of the argument. I don't envy the staff that are tasked with choosing testers. In some cases there's a good bit of background and info to go on and in others it purely is faith. So far I think they've done a good job in the people that they've chosen. I'm sure there are cases where they'd change some things but all-in-all the reviewers have done good work and the guys at MGS should give themselves a pat on the back. Looking forward to seeing more and more good reviews this year!
