  1. Yeah I'm curious about the longevity as well. I've never been a fan of corded grips because they're usually too firm and tear up my delicate hands . I read that these actual felt softer than most and seem to hold up well. So far I can confirm that they're definitely quite comfy for a cord. I immediately ordered another set for my TS4's and woods. Time will tell
  2. Gabe's the man! It was fun to colab with him on this. He's just so genuine and unassuming.. watch a video, next thing you know your on the Internet with your wallet
  3. Just got these back from Gabe @ LetsPlayThru. Love these grips too! Will be an interesting comparison against my gamers. (See last pic)
  4. If so, you almost need to keep the sticker on just to say "I didn't eff up my clubs.. they've been PURE'd"
  5. Oh yeah seriously.. These clubs are the poster child for "don't drink.. or get high and build golf clubs"..
  6. Ha ha! Man that would send my OCD to the moon!
  7. @vandyland, you may know this but if you decide to order a pak, GW will deduct the cost of the 7i and build the set sans 7. Unless you plan to build the set with a different shaft or length specs.
  8. Shipping update.. They'll be here today! I should have a chance to start hitting them on my sim in the next day or so and will be able to compare the physical aspects of both.
  9. So I haven't actually hit the TS1-IM yet. I had them made and sent directly to Gabe for review. When I get them back on Saturday I should be able to do a good comparison. The TS4 right now are probably my favorite set of irons that I've ever owned (I've owned quite a few). They're just everything that I want an iron to be. I'll definitely be reporting back
  10. I should be getting my TS1 IMs back from Gabe this Saturday and I'm pretty excited to take them for a spin. Having a set of both TS4s and TS1 IMs I'm feeling pretty spoiled. Not sure how to justify when to use either set. First world problems I guess
  11. Just got this guy in. It's Maltby's new TC Pro 440cc LS driver. It's very simple looking and as you can see it's got a really nice shape but is a much smaller overall profile. I'd say it might fit right between a Mini driver and standard driver size. 9° loft and I paired it with Maltby's MPF Pro UL (Ultralight) 47g R flex shaft (Otto Phlex). Cut it to 44.75" and it plays right at D2. I'm really excited to see how this performs.just getting over a nasty flu so hopefully I'll be able to meet it out on the range soon.
  12. IMO they're actually pretty great. Their bend profile is probably on the ++ side of what is stated. For example, S might play closer to a softer XS. For reference, I built my dad some KE4 MAX a while back (the ones in the LetsPlayThru video) with R flex. Gabe usually plays a softer S flex and I play between S and XS profile. For me the clubs were very smooth but extremely stable for my swing. If I were to build a set for myself, I'd just go S and call it a day. Gabe actually actually really liked the R flex and they played very well for his swing. Somewhere on the Maltby forum, I thought I read Britt's comparison to the the Ventus Blue but that could be way off. On a completely unrelated topic from your question, I've been LOVING the MPF Pro UL R flex in both of my drivers. I transitioned to them as a more firm Otto Phlex option and they are lights out!
  13. And that's how you get "fit" for a Maltby club I'll say this, 6 mo later and the honeymoon phase still hasn't ended with my TS4's. IMO some of the best blades EVER made!
  14. Oh yeah sweet! Welcome to the forum man!
  15. Complete shameless plug for the LetsPlayThru Maltby video.. but I'll be thinking about these until Gabe sends them back..
  16. Can anybody who has been playing the TC Pro driver possibly provide an update on your experience so far? I'm really on the fence and need someone to push me to one side or the other. Thanks!
  17. That's where Maltby kind of creates their own problem. They make too many clubs that are too awesome and it makes you want to buy a demo of each The Costco thing really isn't a surprise. I really want him to run these head to head with the Takomos.. or TM P790 to really show people what Maltby is all about.
  18. That title alone is enough to ruffle some feathers
  19. Hey y'all Keep your YouTube fresh! TS-1 IM video might be dropping soon!
  20. Man this really is a tough one. I'll cut to the chase and spoil the ending... No I wouldn't have done anything differently. I love everything about the TS4's! THAT SAID.. like so many, I was initially on the fence about the TS1-IM's, TS3's, and TS4's. I played and loved the previous TS1's so I had some loyalty to that model. The TS3's came out and I almost bought those just because they were available and needed something to buy lol.. but then pics of the TS4's surfaced and I just knew I needed to be patient and wait. When the TS4's released I bought them blindly as soon as I could. I had sourced the shafts locally, then bought the heads and built my set. It's been a match made in heaven from day 1. Well curiosity about the TS3's and quite frankly, TS1-IM's, wasn't completely put to rest. My dad had hit my irons one round and fell in love with the feeling and asked that I build him a set. I convinced him that the TS3's might suit him a little better so we went with those instead. I think that suggestion was equally for me to get my hands on them and check them out as it was for him to play them . I built his set and of course I played a round with them. After spending some time with them I can honestly say that had I opted for them first, I would say the exact same thing! If I had never played the TS4's, I would probably say the TS3's were a match made in heaven. Although they're just slightly thicker on top and bottom, they could easily suit a better player's eye. I think that because of the slight extra thickness (not much), they actually appear a little more squat from heel to toe. Think supermodel in the TS4 vs fitness model in the TS3. Both very nice to look at and gorgeous in their individual ways. I will say that when struck pure, they both feel insane! Very equal to each other. The TS4 as you might imagine, when struck off-center will let you know you messed up, but the results aren't nearly as punishing as you'd think from the feel. I wouldn't say they're harsh on missed strike but the feedback is definitely there. The TS3's 's are probably a little more muted on missed strikes as you'd imagine a CB to be. I think the consensus overall is that the TS3's feel better but I think that's just mostly comparing less than perfect shots.. which most of us are accustomed to more often than pros. Honestly the 2 are so very close in performance and feel that going with what visually looks better to you would be the way to make your decision. It sounds silly but that's honestly how I decided on the TS4's. Had I like the looks of the TS3's better, I would have picked them and wouldn't be missing out on anything. Now on a final note, I've partnered with my dad on a set of TS1-IM's. This is the set that I had sent to Gabe at LetsPlayThru to review. I'll have them back hopefully in a week or 2 after he finishes his review, which should hopefully be going up soon. I'll then be able to provide my feedback on those vs the TS3's and TS4's IF that's something you're also considering. But I know there are a load of awesome reviews out on those already. Hopefully that was at all helpful. Just let us know if you have any other questions and we'll all pitch I to help out.
  21. I'll take this one Having played both variations I find the set gaps the way to go. IMO the gap is a club better suited for full shots and occasionally for short bump and run shots. The Maltby forged set wedges transition perfectly and don't at all look like the design got lost somewhere between the set and the wedges. In the event that you want to use it for something up close with some finesse, they really do a great job and inspire confidence and are easy to butter and place the ball where you want it. So my advice is set gap all day long.
  22. For anyone following the "LetsPlayThru" adventure, the TS1-IM's will be there tomorrow!
  23. Hey @Popeye64, I can't see if anybody else asked already but is there a bit of metallic flake in the paint or is it just gloss black? One of the pics look like it has some sparkle. I'm about to order one
