  2. (when you dont get picked for Cobra Connect challenge)
  3. How do people post GIFs that are embedded into the forum post?! I should know this...I'm a millennial!!
  4. Alec; Dallas, TX; 50 rds/yr @alecchaseevans on instagram Handicap 11, Swing: ~105 Probably easier to see in my signature, but TaylorMade M2, Cobra F8+ 3W, 718 AP1 irons, mixed wedge set F9 Conventional Irons, with desired driver, wood, hybrid, wedge loft/specs. Would LOVE the Ultralite Stand Bag! Although those are all of the answers you required, I feel like adding some additional detail and context might showcase that I am a more than ideal candidate for club testing! I am a data-driven, golf-obsessed player who lives, eats and breathes the data from clubs, balls, shots and rounds. I have a bachelors and masters degree in Statistics and work as a Data Scientist. I analyze data and build models every day. Working with golf data is my favorite type of data to play with. Analyzing my launch angles, spin rates, ball speeds are all instrumental when deciding what clubs to play/buy and when analyzing my game. I currently already use Arccos with SEVENTY rounds logged! This will give me a significant competitive advantage over other testers as I already have a deep amount of data regarding my current performance, club-gapping, personal bests and handicaps (see attached). This will allow me to make direct comparisons to my current bag vs the Cobra clubs that come with this challenge. Also, I frequently record my swings and analyze them from a technique perspective. While of course there is a still plenty to work on, my form is in the best its ever been! I've attached a recent video from a driving range session! This thing was BOMBED! In addition to my data driven approach and savviness, I also have a strong Instagram following with almost 1, 000 followers! I post tons of pictures of my new dog and some videos from my swing over the years! Documenting the progress made throughout this challenge would be one of the most fun parts for me! All in all, I wanted to highlight how interested in this challenge I am, as well as how invested I am in my golf game. I will go to the ends of Earth to break par! Hopefully, with these new Cobra clubs, that would be possible I hope this added info helps and I hope I win!! -ACE
  5. Yeah!! We stayed at Buffalo Thunder and played Towa 3 times (on the rotating 3 9-hole courses). We played Marty Sanchez once and Santa Fe CC once. Awesome trip.
  6. Not sure if this thread is still active/relevant but I have found Tour AD shafts to be WORTH EVERY PENNY. Are the expensive? Sure. But so is PXG and plenty of other golf equipment. That being said, these are not one size fits all. I highly recommend being fitted. When I saw my guy at PGA SS (Scott Swords in TX), I saw him multiple times over multiples sessions. I hit new heads with new shafts, new shafts with my existing head, different lofts, different weight settings, EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. What was the result? He did not push me to buy a new driver head and shaft all-together, but simply recommend this shaft because of the MASSIVE spike in ball speed, carry and reduced dispersion. For my 2017 TaylorMade M2 I was hitting the Tour AD IZ 7x the best. When hitting the Titleist TS2 (when considered buying a new head) I was hitting the Tour AD DI 7x the best. Both were incredible feel. We found they were performing slightly different from each other based on the head. But all in all, I'm now carrying 280-290, whereas before, when I was in the wrong shaft for my swing, I was around 255 carry. Incredible quality, high price, but worth the penny if it yields the gains you are looking for. Hope this helps. -ACE
  7. Thank you, sir! The first one is at Heritage Ranch (Fairview), the second is at Stevens Park (Dallas) and the final 3 are all from Santa Fe, NM. Beautiful courses there.
  8. Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself as I am a regular MGS reader, and becoming more active on the forums. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been playing for about 3.5 years now. My dad gave me a set of hand-me-down clubs for a birthday one year and I started playing. Only been serious for the last two years or so now, but I'M ADDICTED. Handicap trending down, at an 11 right now. What do you love about golf? I call golf the "endless pursuit of perfection". There is no such thing in golf as a perfect round. Not even a 59. There will always be a shot you could've hit better, a putt you could've made for birdie instead of par. That chase excites me. I've also gone from shooting in the 100's to regularly in the mid 80's in two years! That level of improvement keeps me going! And I know there is more left in my tank as my knowledge of the game is only growing each day. I love to learn about the game and I love to practice. Breaking 70 hopefully coming in the next few years! What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I love the un-biased, datacratic approach to testing. I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Statistics and Data Analytics and I work as a Data Scientist, so everything I do revolves around data. The more people can understand how powerful data is, the better. Where are you from? What is your home course? Dallas, TX. I typically play all the courses in the North Dallas suburbs. Ridgeview Ranch, Heritage Ranch, Watters Creek, Stevens Park. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best is the warm weather most of the year. Texas only really has 2-3 months of the year where golf can be unbearable. That also leads me to the worst thing During those 2-3 months of the year (usually Nov/Dec -February) its COLD, RAINY and the fairways/greens are ROCK HARD. Not uncommon to hit into 3 club winds during the winter. What do you do for a living? I am a Data Scientist for a financial tech company. I build models that help us determine who is worthy of giving loans to, who we think are fraudulent, etc. How’d you pick your user name? It's my name You can call me ACE though (initials) Cheers everyone! If you ever need someone to play with in the Dallas area, I'm sure I could make it happen! -ACE

  11. Alec- Dallas, TX Nike rain resistant jacket and standard golf pants. February 2018, I had committed to take a day off and play some golf on a random weekday. I had planned it out two weeks in advance for work sake. The day finally arrived, unfortunately it was 35 degrees, raining and miserable. Don’t forget, Texas winters bring NASTY 15-20mph wind. A normal human would’ve rescheduled, but I persisted on. Was it smart? No. Was it worth it? Hell no. Would it have been better with appropriate winter/rain gear? Most certainly. Texas winters are the perfect test for this gear. 🌧
