  1. We went to a Great Wolf once, was a lot of fun and my kids loved the wave pool! Hope you guys have a great time!
  2. Personally I'm not at all surprised that the Kirkland irons got the attention of TaylorMade. I think every video review I saw on the Kirkland's had some mention of the P-790 in it. That's not to say they are the only goo-filled hollow-body players distance iron, but it seemed like it was more than being in the same category. I couldn't tell you what patents TM has for the P-790 but I don't blame them for exercising their right if there is indeed infringement on them. I'm almost more interested in the false advertising claims and finding out the story on that and learning more about SCDC.
  3. https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/taylormade-files-lawsuit-against-costco-over-kirkland-signature-irons/ Big news dropping today! Click over to the full story to read more but here are the highlights: Yesterday, TaylorMade filed a lawsuit against Costco Wholesale and Southern California Design Company over willful patent infringement in regards to Costco’s new Kirkland Signature Players Irons. Not surprisingly this is due to similarity with the P-790 irons. I mean, who didn't see that coming right? Sort of surprisingly SCDC (Southern California Design Company) is believed to be the manufacturer of the Kirkland irons appears to also be tied to brand Indi Golf. Also noted in the claims is that the Costco irons do not actually contain any urethane inserts as advertised. I'm sure we'll hear more as the story progresses. What do you spies think?
  4. Awwww yeah, how could I have forgotten to mention the best part of today! Final load of drywall got delivered for the basement this morning! Looks like I'll be carrying that load down from the garage on lunch today. Oh, did you think I meant the Qi10 test?
  5. Well this is interesting! While I'm happy to see that they are still supporting the MLM I do hope that this comes to the MLM2PRO as well. would make for a much simpler video for @Lacassem and I comparing the Mevo+! haha
  6. Good morning all! Happy Thursday and one day closer to the weekend! Someone at the school district decided that today should be a half-day for the boys which I find to be patently absurd. They already have a vacation week this month and they get weekends off! looks like I’ll only be enjoying a few hours quiet working from home today!
  7. Can't come soon enough! I guess I should probably start up a new Stack program to make sure I'm in good form this year!
  8. Good morning folks! (not a minute to spare) Hope you all have a good day. Busy at work but that's been life lately since we're down a few heads.
  9. Where have you been man?! We're already 6 tests deep in the 2024 testing season: Odyssey Ai-One Putters ODIN Golf Balls Flight Scope Bonanza Arias Chipper Callaway White Box Testing Fit For Golf And the doesn't include the play-it-FOREward (patent pending on the name) opportunity with the Argolf Putters and Wedges! But to answer your question more directly. Our testing season has started, and opportunities will launch to coincide with OEM's ability to provide product and when we can block them in the schedule. Sometimes this will be closer to the launch of a product, or it could be later when an OEM feels more comfortable with inventory levels, or it could just be random change that a week gets chosen. It has nothing to do with playing seasons for us northerners as plenty of members are still playing golf and even those of us in colder climates can still test (albeit a different kind of testing) and follow up once on-course time happens. We take a great deal of care in selecting testers that have the appropriate opportunity to meet the requirements of the OEM on each test. Some are looking for specific player profiles while others have less restrictions. I'll take this opportunity to drive folks interested in testing to read this thread @GolfSpy_APH published in the fall: It's going to be another banner year for testing!
  10. I've got some ideas, maybe not live steam, but certainly showing off our "winter" swings with both simulator results side-by-side will be funny when we get some different reading and one approach shot is different than the next... or maybe they will be close? I guess it depends on how well each unit does without it's special ball.
  11. up to the 5-wood is good for me there, so you'd probably be good up through your driving iron. I can bring up the space heater too from the basement.
  12. Works for me, might “irons only” since even I’m a little sketched out with the driver in there, but it can work.
  13. Brilliant!! We can do e6 head to head. @Lacassem let’s get something on the books. Have your people reach out to my people. anyone make a combo RCT/RPT balls yet? Lol
  14. Currently I am quote overstocked in the putter department! Let's see: Gamer - Evnroll ER2B Challenger - Scotty Super Select Golo 6 Under Review - Argolf Mordred LT Technically my Father's but I put a new grip on it to have fun with - Odyssey Dual Force Rossie (yeah... it's old) More of an antique, but I'll still beat my brother putting with it - Spalding Tru-Focus Dad's but if I walk by I'll roll a putt with it because It was originally mine- Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie Still Sitting in my "eBay Watched Auctions" List: LAB Link.1 - just need one in my specs to get listed! Scotty Phantom X 9 or 9.5 Evnroll ER8V or similar Evnroll EV5.1 Odyssey Ai-One Milled SIX T What's funny about this list is I like my gamer. I have a positive strokes gained in my last 100 putts and a 30% 1-putt rate versus only a 6% 3-putt rate (which included one characteristically bad round of 4 or 5 3-putts. Also, in the past 20 years or so I've gamed 3 putters: 1. Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie 2. Scotty Cameron Select Newport 3. Evnroll ER2B So while this list is actually longer than I expected, it's more of me just wanting to try things out than really looking for a replacement. Oh and Photo of the main three during some putting testing!
  15. my dad is a painter... he agreed that if I hang it (at least the full size sheets) he would handle the smaller pieces and the tape and mudding. I figured that was a win for me! haha
  16. Morning all! Didn't end up getting as much snow as expected which was a nice surprise! I need a good excuse to find my way near a golf store this week so I can get my fix in. Suggestions are welcome! Finished the first order of 50 sheets of drywall yesterday. We only need about 20 more to finish that work. Then I can let the professionals come back to do the floor, so things are progressing nicely in the basement!
  17. Happy Sunday All! Snow flakes already flying here and it’s supposed to be like this all day, but not a ton of snow. But it also wasn’t supposed to be snow yet so we’ll see! bacon is almost ready and I picked up some egg and chorizo empanadas to try out. Then I’m probably banished off to the basement to hang more drywall until kickoff.
  18. This feels like a good enough thread to drop a photo in, I put new grips on a few putters today from Lamkin's current lineup (and a coming soon model). Our winner's are going to have some great options to pick from!
  19. its ok, I’ll just issue him a warning he can void.
  20. Final reviews should go in this thread after your intro in the placeholder post. can’t wait to read them!
  21. She doesn't even nap during the weekend, so I don't know how she's not more tired. I think she has major FOMO and likes the one on one time with mom and dad. I sort of have to believe it has to do with being little during COVID. She got way different treatment at home and a lot more mom and dad time than the boys did since she has basically only known the "working from home" life. I'm just going to start waking her up early and hope she is more tired in the evening. haha
  22. Good morning and happy Friday Spies! Anyone no how to get a 4 year old to go to bed before 11? My boys are ready for bed and fall asleep soon after their head hits the pillows around 9. My daughter, on the other hand, is turning into quite the night owl. Makes it really difficult to do things like... clean, laundry, relax, write forum reviews, you know basic adult stuff, when she's up later than I want to be up some nights!
