  1. sweet post!...thanks. as soojn as i can get to a fitter, ill check those shafts out. How do you like the T100? ill be coming from a 712CB
  2. I tend to agree with the format.....not as hardcore as this but i am not sure how drivers with so many different factors included can be compared. Different shaft lengths, different lofts, different shafts? No robot testing? Ill be honest, im a little confused. Maybe i expected something totally different. but the bottom line is stats can be manipulated anyway you see fit.....so, because some testing parameters changed, certain drivers are now viewed as "middle of the road"...even though they still fly just as far and disperse the same.....i gotta say, play what works for you not what a test dictates. I am very disappointed in this test to say the least.
  3. in the big picture, 3-5 yards means nothing in relation to scoring. If i can hit the fairway everytime over 5 yards longer in the rough, im taking the shorter driver all day long....splitting haris for 2mph ball speed or 3 yards in length means nothing.
  4. im lost on the lighter shaft / more speed opinion......i found that its just the opposite. With a heavier shaft, you get more speed given the right timing of your swing

    PX LZ shafts

also, do lighter shafts feel more "harsh" on mishits?
  6. during any disastrous times, you see this.....9/11, Hurricane Sandy...ect.....this is nothing new. People just forget which is why individuals still rush to the store and fistfight over toilet paper.
  7. i hope so. I think the Masters should be the last major of the year anyway
  8. These situations are changing by the hour.....this virus is now airborne as reports out of Italy have become true. its also starting to really effect people in their 40's and 50's. Just do whats right until we get a better handle on this pandemic. Hysteria to one person is prudent to another. The people who automatically say this is not a big deal without knowing suffer from the Dunning & Krueger effect. its scary how some people react. you can be prudent without being panicked. Remember golf is a game, not life or death. If they cancel or postpone the tour, good. Whatever helps this increasingly volatile situation.
  9. yes but unfortunately i did not have the 2020 BX, only the 2018. And from what most of the testing shows, the 2020 BX isnt so unique enough to make a big difference. Its just observations from my round, not hardcore robot testing or anything so take it for what its worth.....you could play in the same conditions and have totally different outcomes.
  10. Yesterday i played a round in what i would call "aggressive wind" conditions. I played the 2020 BXS for half the round and the 2018 BX for the other half. what i noticed were the following 1- the BXS ballooned for me quite a bit on well struck hybrid shots. One fell ~30-yards short of the target. 2- The BXS flew long and felt great in "normal" conditions. 3- the 2018 BX flew much better against the wind. I estimated a 20 yard difference. 4- The 2018 BX felt very hard on even the slightest mishit (low groove hits) 5- Both were very similar around the green. but the greens were extremely hard due to lack of rain and brown surfaces (not and green grass in the northeast just yet) In very calm conditions, i could play either ball but the balloon balls were a major issue for me with my long hybrid shots into the wind

    New Chromesoft

https://youtu.be/LIezC3ClNXU here is a testing video on both. AVX is lower spinning for more distance, but its so close, it really doesnt make all that much difference. The V1x has been the gold standard expecially when you look at thetesting that PING does.....even PING says the V1X is the best in all conditions, especially wind.....ping has no skin in the ball game and they love the V1x and use it to test their own clubs.
  12. #facts the srixon ball is top notch.

    PX LZ shafts

where do they take out the weight from? Or where do the add the weight to make the shaft stiffer or more flexible? are the shaft walls thicker or thinner?

    New Chromesoft

AVX as well but the consumer side is flooded....which is where they make their money Multiple Titleist releases, Multiple TM releases, plus all the srixon deals going on and even the lower model balls like Noodle....... even TM is having a 4 for 3 deal on the TP5 line.....all of it could effect the CS launch......many people take advantage of these sales going on and will not purchase a $48 /dzn ball later in the spring.....unless they are a brand loyalist and im not sure how many CS loyalists there are out there....especially after the quality issues they have had.

    PX LZ shafts

I was looking at the PX LZ line and i have a real stupid question. Laugh if you must......but PX has 4 different levels. all the specs are the same, except the weight. How can all the specs be the same with lighter shafts? I guess im asking where does the weight differences come from? How can the 5.0 flex be the same as the 6.5? If you have played these shafts, what are your thoughts? Are they as smooth as advertised and have great feel or do the seem "boardy" to you? Project X LZ Steel PRODUCTS FLEX WEIGHT (G) LENGTH (IN.) New Chromesoft

There are so many premium balls out there that do the same thing, being late to market will absolutely hurt them. especially with the new Bridgestone line which is getting rave reviews from anyone who has played it.

Callaway is signing up community testers over in their forums for the X and CS. We should all bombard them with submissions so we can cut them open before testing commences

at $48 a dzn, ill probably pass this year.... They could make a splash if they offer a by 2 get 1 free......that would go a long way after their horrible QC issues were discovered.
  19. I dont agree with the srixon being sub par.....maybe you didnt like it but the company and ball is very good. One of the few balls a consumer can buy that is the exact ball used on tour
  20. Srixon's is great....buy 2 get 1 free.....comes out to just over $2 / ball. The other sales are ~ .60-.70 more per ball during the sales. if bridgestone ran a buy 2 get 1 sale, id be all over it.....
  21. How about a Mills Nellie? You can customize it all you want and David Mills is a master craftsman......I got a GSS handmade soft tail for $600. Its amazing. I will be going back to him for another putter.
  22. T100-S with a U500 thrown in and a vokey 50 degree
  23. Srixon has a great deal going on.....id put my hard earned money there
