DRLEONARD58
The weather finally got warm enough to try out my new Clinch Tactile Golf Glove. In the cooler months, I use a full leather glove and the current glove is a Vice Golf Pure Color in the Magnet color. I was running low on time in getting to the course, so I don't have any unboxing pictures but I was impressed with the packaging and all of the extras included in the box. Not only did I receive the glove, but also received a bag of branded tees and a handwritten note from the founder/owner -- I love a personal touch from customer service. Additionally, the bag came in a nice plastic branded reusable zipper pouch that I will be using to collect all of the small items that tend to clutter my bag and pockets (divot repair tools, ball markers, range card, etc.). Upon first trying on the glove, the fit was spot on (cue 'Fits like a glove!' dad-joke). The length of the fingers was perfect and the glove felt snug without any restriction in movement or range of motion. The material felt thin (much thinner than my leather Vice glove) and provided much greater tactile response, so I was anxious to get to the course and try it out. I will update this post as I have more rounds under my belt with this glove to provide an update on durability. When arriving at the course, I headed straight to the short game area as I didn't have enough time to hit the range before my round. The thinner material provided a pretty unique experience when practicing chipping, hitting out of the sand and other short game shots, it provided the grip and secure feeling of a glove with almost the same amount of feedback as playing without a glove. I could feel the club's interaction with the turf/sand to a greater extent than before. It took a minute to get used to but more feel around the green is never a bad thing IMO. As Clinch advertises, the glove does provide great breathability -- when in the short game area, the temperatures were in the mid-80s so my hands were starting to sweat, but my glove hand was closer to my non-glove hand than usual with no perceived lack of grip or feedback due to the sweating. On the course, initially I noticed more of the same as from the short game area before my round. The best compliment I can give is that I stopped paying attention to the new glove and focused on the rest of my game. One of my playing buddies noticed my new glove and commented on the looks of the glove and "not a lot of seams to wear out and fail" -- all positive things in my book. One potential negative that I did notice was my tendency to use my left hand (this is my gloved hand as I am right-handed) to wipe off grass, dirt, sand, etc. from the club face after my shot. Early into my round, I noticed that the light grey material of the palm and fingers was showing some discoloration but by the end of the round this had all but disappeared. Perhaps the fix would be me not wiping my club with my glove hand and to either get a greenside towel or to just be better about using the towels that I already have on my bag. Overall, very happy with the purchase and looking forward to many more rounds! cksurfdude, GolfSpy_APH and Blaine Dye 3 Quote WITB: Takomo IGNIS Driver 10.5* (1* strong) with HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g 5.5 shaft Takomo IGNIS 5 Wood with HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g 5.5 shaft Ping G430 22* Hybrid with HZRDUS Smoke Red 80g 6.0 shaft Srixon ZX5 Mk II 5-PW with KBS Tour Light R shafts Edison 2.0 Wedges 51° 55° 59° with KBS Tour 110 R shafts L.A.B.
