  1. JT was terrible all year and wasn’t good in the tournament. Other players were much better than him this year.
  2. JT was 20th is strokes gained during the tournament. Koepka was 1-1-1 and part of the team that got smashed 9-7. There were 3-4 players better by far this year than the ones picked. That is 1/3rd of the team. Of course it would have made a difference.
  3. JT played just ok. Zach’s captains picks went 6-12-4 by my count. That tells all right there. The old buddy network instead of picking by merit led to another failure.
  4. NBC’c coverage is HORRIBLE. 90% of the air time are the matches that are 3 or 4 up. I’m barely seeing the tied or 1 up matches. Terrible.
  5. 6.5-1.5 When you pick the team based on your buddy group rather than merit, this is the garbage result you get.
  6. It's all relative. For the NYC area (NY, NJ, Westchester, LI), being the best public course other than Bethpage Black and a high-end experience, mid-$200s isn't unreasonable. Compare it to similar quality high-profile public courses around the country and the price is in line.
  7. My question is- what is wrong with that? It seems like a good strategic option for team golf. Is there a principle of golf that this contradicts?
  8. Have people here seen this? In a scramble, does the first score in have to be the team’s score on a hole? It doesn’t seem to make sense to me. Each player is playing his own shot through the hole so shouldn’t both players finish out and be entitled to the better score? https://www.golfmonthly.com/news/who-was-right-viral-barstool-sports-clip-throws-up-scramble-rule-debate
  9. Donald Trump’s name will finally be scrubbed from a city-owned golf course in the Bronx — with the ex-president agreeing to unload the lease to the Bally’s casino chain following a lengthy battle with the city. The Trump Organization has sold its contract to operate Trump Golf Links Ferry Point — a 20-year lease struck in 2015 that former Mayor Bill de Blasio had sought to cancel over the Capitol riot — to Bally’s in a deal worth tens of millions of dollars, The Post has learned. The lease transfer — which for Bally’s is a multimillion-dollar bet that the property will help it snag a highly prized gaming license in the Big Apple — had hinged on approval from the city Parks Department and Comptroller Brad Lander, who finally signed off on it Thursday, sources said. On Friday morning, the city comptroller’s website showed that Trump’s contract with the Parks Department is slated to expire on Sept. 21. Bally’s will continue to operate the site as a golf course and change its name to Bally’s Links, sources said — doing away with the massive rock-and-grass formation that spells out “TRUMP LINKS,” which for years has been impossible for drivers to miss when headed over the East River on the Whitestone Bridge from Queens.
  10. There is no valid argument that picking JT was based on merit. You should make the Ryder Cup team by being one of the best players of the year. JT has been terrible all year. He robbed a spot that others were more deserving.
  11. Choosing JT over Keegan is distasteful- popularity contest over merit. Zach really disappointed.
  12. Even is it was a 78, that's bad, it's a missed cut, and we still would be asking what is wrong with JT.
  13. Go tell that to a five-time Champions Tour winner: “It’s a huge issue,” says Tom Pernice Jr., a five-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions. “A lot of players aren’t going to say anything about it to the press. It’s not fair. If you’re playing for a living, there’s a skill level in putting and that is being able to control the fulcrum point.”
  14. You can all turn blind to what is right in front of you all you want. He is holding his forearm against his body. It’s there for all to see. It’s unfortunate that he insists on doing it because his dedication and hard work is admirable, but it isn’t an excuse for skirting the rules.
  15. Or they just make intelligent points based on facts
  16. Scott and Vijay both keep their left elbows up. You can visibly see the forearms are away from their bodies.
  17. I see you are having a hard time ignoring me now. No one is forcing you to reply back.
  18. Other players have complained but after the ruling bodies let it be known they were backing Langer no one is going to say anything now. "Anybody who sees what Langer and Scott McCarron and Ian Woosnam are doing knows it's questionable," Chamblee told GC colleague Tim Rosaforte following the Senior Open at Salem Country Club. "The whispers are out there. All of the players look askance whether they say it openly or not. I've talked to enough of them to know — and many have contacted me — they all look askance at what's going on out there.”
  19. You don’t see many of my posts then. My last before this was praising Rickie Fowler.
  20. There is no way the Champions Tour is going to come down hard on one of its only big draws. Yes they are going easy on him with this
  21. Oh please, look at the 4:52 mark here: Don't believe your lying eyes ...
  22. It would be except he is so obviously cheating with his putter technique. Pressing your forearm to your body is anchoring.
  23. Keegan is one of my favorite players. Great to see him get a hometown win!
  24. I watched the video. I didn't see any violation.
  25. Thank you @DaveP043 So if I'm playing a match against someone and they hit it in the no play zone, we can just abide by the one-stroke drop and chalk it up to semantics. It seems like this is for player safety an the Penalty Area/No Play Zone is what the were intending for all along. Thank you @cnosil and @downlowkey for your responses too.
