Newberry CC is like 15 minutes away, and they have the nearest grocery store from us.  A 5 hour milk and eggs run sounds like a plan.

After reading all these I think I will drive back over the bridge and check out Hidden River.  The course looks great on their website.

Out of all of those, Sweetgrass is my favorite.  I haven’t played Tiberstone or whatever it is called.  They used to, might still play a Ladies pro tourney there, and maybe a Champions tour a few years back. Sage Run wasn’t done while I was there, but it looks to be better than Sweetgrass.

Where did all of you Yoopers come from?  Haha.
Spent 4 years there and I only knew of 2 others on here.  Glad to see the Upper Hand well represented.

I go with a group of guys every July to the UP.  We play Sweetgrass which is in Harris, Greywalls which is in Marquette and has some fantastic views and a pretty unique layout, and Timberstone which I think is somewhere like Iron Mountain (I could be wrong on that).

Try the Newberry GC if you're in that area.  Not long by any stretch, but there are some interesting holes.

I played in Marquette last summer at Greywalls and the course has some of the most spectacular views.  Check it out.

No problem.  Hidden River is worth the drive, there is a restaurant there.  Plus it’s not far from Mackinaw City, could spend half and half.

That is typically what we do.  Id prefer not to go back across the bridge but would like to make a day trip somewhere.  I'll check those out, thanks for the suggestions.

That is a fair assessment of Pooler.  Check out Richmond Hill or Wilmington Island, both older communities and not as commercialized.  Richmond Hill has 2 courses, Ford Field and River Club is extremely nice.  And Wilmington Island has Savannah CC which is more of your classic Southern country club, both socially and golf wise.

The Club at Savannah Harbor is a great course, its ran thru Marriott Golf and at one point was a Troon Golf course.  There are a handful of great private clubs if you can find your way in.
The Ford Field and River Club is a Dye Course and I believe hosts an event from one of the smaller Tours each year.
The Landings is a nice course but pretty spread out, winding thru real estate developments.  Would be a tough walk.

Like the poster before said Hilton Head is close by with tons of offerings and St. Simmons is about an hour south with some good spots also.

I host a tournament for a big group of friends in a small fishing town about 30 minutes south of Savannah at a course called Sapelo Hammock, has some really neat marsh and intercoastal holes.  Dont forget to pack the bug spray!

    Hope you enjoy Savannah!
