  1. We have a local artist that does some really cool stuff at The Good Bogey (https://www.instagram.com/thegoodbogey/). This isn't affiliated with a club or anything, but I love this dang logo.
  2. I just finished my 2nd 9 hole round with the RX and feel I can start to give a pretty good (albeit non-statistical) analysis of the ball. the TLDR version is I like these balls alot. I typically game a Maxfli Tour X and I think this ball is super comparable. For my game, there's 2 things I can really weigh in on: Driving & Putting. As a caveat, I did just purchase a new (new to me at least) driver and this might have something to do with it. That said, off the driver, the flight is straighter than the Maxfli. Distance is excellent, in my first round with them, I cranked out 278 & 318 (lots of roll out with a hill) yd drives. both of these numbers are off the chart for me, which is probably attributed to the driver, but the ball stayed in the fairway because of it's straighter flight. So the driver (G425) & ball are very much symbiotic friends. On the green, I like putting a firm ball, and these have a great feel to them. My putting has been great so far this year and being able to confidently know my speed off the putter & the feedback from the ball has been awesome. Finally, for the Mindset piece of this, I think it works. when walking up to my ball (especially if I see the circles), I take my time and purposely visualize what I'm trying to accomplish, think about all the crap I need to do with my swing, and hit it. Finally, in a true testament to the ball, I've played 18 holes and I am still on my first ball. It's a little scuffed up from a cart path, but otherwise the ball has held up. This is stacking up as the best free purchase I've made in golf :).
  3. I currently have the original Rapsodo. It's portable and easy to set up. It appears to give legit numbers and I like it for my short game. I like trying to call my shot and then see how far it will go. The downside is that it can be finicky to get to work at times. Then I just get angry at it. It also destroys the battery life on my phone. It's an older iPhone. So, it could very well be the phone and not the monitor there. I am debating on selling it on ebay since I've come to the realizations that: 1) I'm not that good and wtf do I need a monitor for, 2) I like to get a number from my range finder and just go for that. Maybe in the future it will be better when my swing is more consistent, but for now I'm not sure I need a device to tell me I hit it off the hosel.
  4. Balls arrived yesterday and totally forgot I signed up. I had to explain to the wife citing specific evidence that I indeed did not pay for these. Looking forward to putting these up against my usual Maxfli Tour X.
  5. I found a TM M6 7W brand new on ebay for $60. I didn't want to go drop a ton of money on something that I wasn't sure I needed. Turns out I needed it. It's a great club and fun to hit.
  6. I’m a realistic poor (aka cheap) when it comes to golf. The sport is expensive enough. I believe I saw somewhere (here or FOS, I forget) that the price point for the Polo is >$110. I’d get better use out of my money with a lesson. As for the logo, it’s nothing remarkable and I feel it won’t scale well. The brand name is off putting by making Sunday two words. Man, I love Tiger, but I don’t “$110 polo with questionable branding” love him.
  7. So, I pulled out my last test ball this morning. I was playing a Srixon XV and my distance just wasn't great with it. Lost the Srixon, and I pulled out the test ball. I thought the distance was much more consistent to what I'm used to. I'm guessing the weather had something to do with it (Mid-Upper 50s, firm vs soft ball).
  8. Maxfli Tour X is my go-to followed by whatever flavor of PRO V I find in the woods. I might mix in a little Srixon XV (depending on the sales).
  9. Congrats testers & testers-to-be. Looking forward to seeing the reviews. I have an Original Rapsodo and if I hit 100 balls, it tracks 35 of them. So, I might be dabbling in the market here soon.
  10. Got out yesterday morning and walked 9 at my local muni. The plan was to put this up against my gamer (this month it's Srixon z-star XV, usually it's Maxfli Tour X) on each hole. While I am consistently inconsistent, I'm consistent enough to notice some differences. 1) Off the tee, the test ball definitely had a higher apex than my gamer. No real difference in distance. 2) around the greens, I didn't feel like the ball held as well as my gamer. Lots of rollout. Also this is where I started to feel the difference in the balls. The test ball is much softer. Going from a more firm ball to this softer test ball was a little tricky. Shots weren't feeling like I was getting solid contact with them, but would ultimately go close to the distance I wanted. 3) Putting was something else. I am finally getting decent at controlling my speed on the green and this ball I felt like I had to clobber to get it to go anywhere. I don't think that's a bad thing btw. What's great is even though I felt like I was making a conscious effort to putt the ball a little bit "harder" is I don't think I blew anything past the hole (BONUS!! I snaked in a 20 footer with the test ball). So, I'd say I like them on the green. I don't have to treat the ball like something delicate, I can relax and hit it a bit more firm. Unfortunately, one of the test balls is buried in some leaves... I'm playing again this weekend and will collect some more of that sweet, sweet experiential data
  11. Ok. Still waiting on the confirmation here in Missouri. While I’m waiting, what’s everyone’s plan for testing these things (if there’s instructions I haven’t seen them, sorry)? I typically play Maxfli Tour X and Pro V1x. My initial inclination is to play this up against my Maxfli head to head at my local Muni and then hit the sim with them and do the same thing.
  12. Mine came in the mail today also. Only bought 2 doz (still have 2 more at home), but I had $10 in Dicks rewards. So, these things are like $1.67/ball!
  13. I finally feel apt to post here after months of denial... I just purchased a brand new Taylor Made M6 7 wood on ebay (~$50) and after a couple of rounds with it, I think it's a keeper. It's probably about a 215yd club for me and it might be the first "fun" club in my bag. From the first time I used it off the tee on a short par 4 it flew pretty straight (for me) and the ball flight is awesome (super high & long). Anyone else rocking a 7 wood? If so, what situations are you breaking that sucker out in?
  14. I love free entries to reinforce why I don't gamble real money on golf. Thanks MGS! What Player Will Have the Most Points: Hovland What Player Will secure the Clinching Point on Sunday: Ricky Fowler
  15. Fun story. Got a call late last night to play this morning. Ended up playing with Luke Bryan’s guitar player and I was Luke’s replacement. Only got about 5 holes in and the skies opened up. Let them know I’m ready in case I need to fill in at the concert tonight.
