  1. If par is 70 and you shoot 78 with a 9 handicap then I think minus 10 is wrong
  2. I understand fully the testing requirements and design. I answered it fully in my review and subsequent post. As stated earlier the fitting app is only as accurate as the data entered. I would argue most golfers have no idea of how far they actually hit the ball. Most people over estimate. I did get the correct ball, but the MindSet logo and technique didn’t really do much. Additionally, a counter to your point. You could have a great mental approach, but the wrong ball will hold you back at some point. Bottom line you need to maximize the mental aspect as well as have the correct gear.
  3. I agree with your assessment on the MindSet. It didn’t move the needle for me. I found it really the same as lines on the Callaway or arrows on a Titleist. I have a set pre-shot routine so, the MindSet technique didn’t really add much for me. As others have stated, it will help those without a routine develop one.
  4. I do agree with your point on the pre-shot. The app for ball selection is only as good as the answers plugged into it. If someone doesn’t know an answer or answers incorrectly then they will be recommended the wrong ball. My point was each golfer testing the ball has two things going on. First, the ball being used and if it fits there game. Second (while I understand the meat of the test) is the MindSet portion. Really I found it no different than the arrows on a Titleist or the triple lines on a Callaway.
  5. Agree, but each ball has different characteristics and thus the overall performance will be different. Example: if I tried one of the soft ball with too much spin, then my results would be bad regardless of MindSet logo or not.
  6. What can also be confusing is that those testing the golf balls all have a different type. So, the results there will be very different as well.
  7. Thank you and yes there are opportunities to be had at Cowan.
  8. Date 04/24/2024 Course Name Sun City Golf Club Cowan Creek Gross Score 71 Course Handicap 2 Gross Strokes over/under par -1 Net Score to Par -3 Net Score 69 Net Birdies or better Longest Drive Played the blue tees with a course handicap of 2. The course had a rating of 69.1 and slope of 123. Solid round today. Hit 7 fairways and 16 greens. Had 32 putts today with 5 lip outs! Three natural birdies offset by 2 bogeys.
  9. While correct, tip stiff or middle or handle stiff could all give different feelings. However, the fitter was trying to correct a swing flaw with a shaft probably too stiff for him. He really needs to see an instructor.
  10. I would recommend looking at Bill Barrett (sp) at Stadium Golf. A buddy of mine went to him and gave him great reviews
  11. What are you calling a powerful cut? Also, is its power fade or a slice? Two different animals. I like to hit a power fade; however, it is carrying 270 plus. A fade is something you can play all day, but a cut slice will eventually get away from you. Especially into the wind. In the wind I like to draw it to cut through the wind. I would still recommend having someone look at your swing. I think you are in San Diego. If so, they have good instructors at Stadium Golf.
  12. What you are describing sounds like a swing issue more than shaft. Without seeing your swing I would just be guessing. That said, it sounds like you are cutting across the ball. Hitting it either in the heel or middle with an open face while cutting across. This will cause your high right shots. Often someone who cuts it will try to come from the inside, but actually they just swing harder across the shot. I would recommend having a good teaching pro look at your grip, stance, ball position and swing. Somewhere there is one or multiple flaws that are creating the high right miss.
  13. The 20 gram jump in weight is huge. However, have you tried the Project X Hzrdus Smoke Yellow or Blue? The counterbalance shaft in the 5.5 might fit you. It is low spin and the counterbalance will make the 60 grams feel lighter. I also think the smoke black is too much shaft for your swing. The black is for aggressive swingers with a quick tempo.
  14. I used the MindSet logo to line up the direction/line of where I wanted the putt to start. I didn’t concentrate on the green dot. I just used it the way I would the arrows on a Titleist. It didn’t change my standard pre-shot routine.
  15. I have completed my final review of the Bridgestone Tour B X MindSet on page 9.
  16. They were great again today and pitched one in and lipped out two more! Great wedges!
  17. Recommend getting a fitting. I didn’t need one because I had a detailed fitting with PXG and know my specs.
  18. Update: in the first round with the Edison Wedges I chipped one in and flew one in from 75 yards! Found them easy to hit and they were as advertised. I just wish I would have switched to them earlier!
  19. Josh the Edison wedges are awesome. Chipped in and flew one in from 75 yards in the first round I used them!
  20. Good morning everyone. It’s the start of season 3 of the VCT. Good luck to everyone that participates!
