  1. Another update: I am still working on dialing in my OP shaft. Hitting it well on the range, then (as is typical) swinging poorly on the course. Once I groove in the slower tempo I think it will be good. Hit a couple of bombs with it yesterday when I slowed down -- led to birdie and par. If I can rein it in and hit more fairways with it, it will be golden. My buddy, however, with a swing speed in the 95 range, is absolutely loving and bombing the GPLB 45-L with an Epic Max LS 9* head I made. It was too flippy for me, but I suspect that will become his forever driver within the week.
  2. This is cool! May I have Broke 90 and Albatross badges, please? (One of these things is not like the other. Hoping to ask for the Broke 80 badge soon.)
  3. For the Motore F1 OP, I started at D0 and moved to D2 with the additional weight. When I shorten the shaft it will be around D1 I imagine. 8* Rogue ST Max LS head, hitting at 7* and going plenty high/spinny. I also have a 7.5* Epic Max LS I can try.
  4. I need new irons, and am contemplating a Club Champion fitting to move up from my current game improvement irons, definitely not to blades but into something approaching a player's iron and more workable. I had a great experience getting fitted for woods at CC, so this is not a complaint about them. Rather, prices on new irons with the custom shafts I will need are absurd. I have read enough of this forum to know that there are good options from companies like Maltby (if I found a reputable builder locally) and DTC from Hogan, Sub70, etc., and probably good options in the used market too. But - and here's my question - how do I translate my CC fitting into any of those options, and can I retain the same likelihood that I will be pleased with the end results if I go with something other than the clubs into which I am fitted? I may just have to bite the bullet and pony up the big dough. I welcome thoughts and suggestions, and thank you in advance.
  5. Following up on my post earlier about my experiences. I have thus far tried two OP shafts, the first a Fuji Motore F3 55-R (the OG shaft from the MrShortGame vid) and a PLB 40-L, both at 46" with my Rogue ST Max LS. I currently game a MotoreX F1 7-S. First, I cannot hit the L shaft worth a crap. Too flippy. The Motore F3 55-R is a different story. I have to swing it differently, of course, but I can hit it. It's very spinny, however - like double the spin of my MotoreX F1 7-S. I am not getting any extra distance from it yet, either. That said, I am going to cut it down to 45" and play at different swing weights (I bough a heavier insert for the Rogue) and lofts, etc., and work on the correct tempo, and see what I can accomplish. It seems like there may be more in there waiting to be let loose if I can tame the tempo and groove in a good swing. This has been a fun experiment nonetheless. More to come!
  6. Any thoughts on the Fuji Cobra Baffler Motore shaft for OP FW wood shafts?
  7. I would appreciate more testing around the green. I did a very unofficial test with my coach last year, and the Maxfli GG ball which was supposed to compete against the ProV was nowhere close in terms of holding greens from nearby lies. The ProV was WAY softer. From 150 matters, but I miss enough that from 15 matters as much!
  8. You are so right! And what if we are playing a Police song? I need a ride with a loud bell, and 3 splashes!
  9. eBay bidding on several Callaway low spin 9 degree drivers for the Otto Phlex experiment. And a PXG driver head. In the drumming world, it’s called GAS: Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Got it bad.
  10. This is my first post at MGS, and I want to use it to say hello, share my excitement, and mostly say thank you. I found this thread via Google after watching the MrShortGame and MobileClubFitter videos. I have read all 57 pages, and have learned a TON - and not just about the Otto Phlex. I am anxious to dig into other threads. I am so thankful for all the knowledge and insights shared here. THANK YOU. I game a 9 degree Rogue ST Max LS with a Fuji Motore X F1 Stiff 68g at D2. From lots of practice and lessons, I have started hitting it much better, and 300+ with some regularity- but not nearly as consistently as I like, and dispersion is still rough. That is mostly about my swing problems, not the club. That said, I was fortunate to find the OG Fuji Motore F3 55-R on eBay (in an old Lefty Cobra driver for cheap). This is the shaft MrShortGame actually preferred over the AF in the video. GG is building it for me today at 46" and D0-1, and I get to hit it for the first time tomorrow with my Rogue head. I am beyond excited, as I think swinging a bit slower, and feeling the load more in the backswing, will help a ton with my swing faults (which relate primarily to my finish and tempo). I also have a PLB L shaft on the way to try. So, no data to share yet, but I will be back when I have news. But I want to stress again - thank you!
