  1. I just received my new Callaway Apex Ai200 Irons! First round yesterday and they live up to the expectations.
  2. I’m in the always tucked in camp, but I don’t mind others having it untucked as long as the shirt is made to be worn that way (like you see on the LPGA). Untucked with a long shirt tail hanging looks sloppy to me unless it is paired with a towel stuck in the back pocket.
  3. I'm eagerly awaiting the new Callaway Apex line that we were all expecting in January, but has been pushed to late fall last I heard. They are long overdue for a refresh of the standard Apex (not Apex Pro).
  4. I caddied before I played golf and back in the 70's I bought my first set of clubs from one of the golfers I caddied for, a set of MacGregor Tourney blades; not the best clubs for a beginner! I did not learn my lesson, and my second set of clubs was a set of Hogan Producer Irons and persimmon Hogan Apex woods (both of which are still in my garage somewhere). Many sets later, I've become more sensible since then.
  5. I definitely prefer 18 with the exception of an after work evening 9.
  6. Interesting concept and opportunity. I found one of these and did not know what the markings were for...now I know! Here's the recommendation from the fitting tool:
  7. March is still peak season in AZ, so you won't find much less than $100. Having said that, I have been able to find some 'cheap' rates at the following as a single: The Legacy Club (not in Scottsdale, South Phoenix) Raven Golf Club (also Phoenix) TPC Scottsdale - Champions Course Legend Trail - underrated; I really like this one Ocotillo Golf Club - (in Chandler, lots of H20)
  8. Not sure if this really answers the question, but are we going to see new Callaway Apex irons in 2024? I understood they were going to release new Apex irons (not Apex Pros) that used the AI face design from Paradigm with the head design of an Apex. I was disappointed to only see the AI Smoke irons introduced in early January. Assuming they do release an Apex 2024, that is my vote for a review.
  9. Thank you for your comments. I have 2014 TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC irons and I am considering an upgrade; your post is giving me more motivation to make a change.
  10. There doesn't seem to be a replacement for the regular Apex 21; all three of these models look to be targeting the low single digit ball strikers. Am I missing something?
  11. I'm definitely a walker, health permitting of course. As a former caddy, I think walking is part of the game and the walk between shots allows me to mentally calm myself and prepare for the next shot. Nothing frustrates me more than taking a few clubs to hit a shot where you can't take the cart only to find out I don't have what I need. Now that I'm in my 60's I have taken to using a pushcart to take stress off my back. When I'm at a resort course or a mountain course where everyone is riding then I do take a cart.
  12. I have four brands: Callaway woods & hybrid, TaylorMade irons, Cleveland wedges and Titleist/Scotty Cameron putter.
