  1. The way the crown spills over onto the face of the original Burner is so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It looks like it's made out of glass or something.
  2. Ummmmm..... Excuse me sir but.. Did you not promise us side by side pics with the old school Burner driver??.....................
  3. After looking at some of your builds, I have come to the conclusion that I am not a fan of super colourful, mismatching ferrules. Which is a surprise to me, because that's exactly what I though I would want if I built a set, I thought the idea of each iron having it's own unique ferrule would be a neat idea. I do like the colourful ones, but only when they are all uniform, and I'm not a fan of how they look on shiny chrome shafts and heads. The really colourful ones need to be on darker shafts/heads IMO. I'm also not a fan of really tall ferrules, they kind of look clumsy, again IMO, and again something that surprised me as I thought I liked the tall colourful ones. I'm realizing that ferrules look WAY different off the clubs than how they look on the clubs. Keep posting, I'm learning things about myself through your builds haha
  4. Well loved, but in great shape all things considered. For $100, not too shabby. This was before I hit them with the magic eraser, I wanted to hit them in my net before I cleaned them. Both have Adila Rogue shafts, and the driver came with the headcover.
  5. Just found an Epic Flash driver for $60, and GBB Epic 3w for $50. Combo'd together for $100 CAD. Bought and paid for, just need to get my greasy mitts on them now.
  6. No first center shafted putter I've tried. I went from thinking I liked the look of a center shaft, to actually hating it, to then falling in love with it... YMMV for sure. I love a soft insert like the White Hot's offer, and the Ping has a slightly clickier/harder feel off the face, but I can't argue with the roll. The more I use it, the more I like it.
  7. Nice find, I found a center shafted Ping Cadence Tom Cat Heavy putter for a literal steal of a deal. I found someone selling Cleveland CG16 Tour irons 5-PW in black satin finish with a bag and this Ping Cadence putter for $130 CAD. I sold the irons, and THOUGHT I was going to sell the putter, until I putt with it... It's going to stick around as my bladed option. It came with an Odyssey headcover instead of a Ping one, that's the only drawback, but my daughters old shoe fits it like a glove, and I think it looks better. I can't leave well enough alone either, so I wrapped the shaft black, and added some vinyl teeth.
  8. You want some.. "matching", fairway woods? They are upgrades though, not some old TaylorMade junk, pffff Everyone knows it's Bumber or bust! You know they're legit, bubble shaft and everything..
  9. Normally I'd say colour, but those look really nice all blacked out imo
  10. Picked up an M5 driver with a Hazrdus Smoke black 6.0, like new headcover and new +4 MCC grip for $150 CAD. It will just be something to play around with, I couldn't pass on the deal. If it blows me away, maybe I'll keep it, but we'll see. Or maybe I'll keep it just because it's Tiger's Masters winning driver, and just own a piece of history.
  11. I admit it, I have a problem... this poor bastard has more vinyl wrap than a civic at a Thursday night car meet in a Costco parking lot... To answer your questions, no it doesn't seem to affect the roll of the ball, and yes the feel is almost the exact same. It has a slightly more muted sound on soft putts, but anything more than 5ft it sounds and feels the same. I dunno... I like it...
  12. I almost pulled the trigger, but after shipping and converting to $CAD it brings it to roughly $150. That's still a stellar deal, they are on sale at Golftown for $229, but it's just not enough for me to commit. Plus, I like my 60º, so this would just be to play around with. High five on the sweet find though 🫸🫷
  13. Nice, I've never heard of this brand. I assume you got it from Amazon? I search on there all the time for golf stuff just for fun or out of boredom while working, and I've never come across this brand. The review are all fairly positive, but a lot of them talk about how big this bag is, is it really that much bigger than a normal cart bag?
  14. I got this organizer with one 2 of those glove keepers for Christmas. I'm going to give them a try. I'm bad for tossing a sweaty glove all mashed up into a pocket, then having to deal with a hard crunchy glove that's mashed up in a ball my next round.
  15. Haven't played a round yet this year, but I had my first shift at a new course I will be working at this year. Pheasant Run is a 27 hole course with a driving range close to where I recently moved, and I'll be working weekend mornings so that I can enjoy golf this summer without breaking the bank. I did the same thing the last 2 summers at another course, but that was a private 18 hole, and no range, so it was harder to get on to play, plus it's now further away since I've moved. Pheasant is incredibly hilly, there's not a tee-box there that isn't at least 30-40ft above the fairway, plus a lot of articulation and elevation changes. It's right up my alley, I love a course with a lot of "character" to it. I had my first shift this passed Sunday, and took this picture from the back tee-box on one of the holes. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the guy with the backpack blower, his head is about 5ft below the bottom of my feet, and he's still about 8ft above the next tee-box down in front of him. The fairway is probably 40-50ft below the back tee, and that's just 1 example. I can't wait to play it this year.
  16. Added some carbon wrap to the Fang alignment plate. Looks nicer than the dull black plastic, and now it matches the carbon on my original 2-ball
  17. Brag away, I'm a proud cheapskate and love good deals. I got a set of 4 headcovers off of Ali Express for $33 CAD, and was blown away by the quality for the price. They look and feel really nice, but when you factor in the price, they're unbeatable.
  18. Thanks, so far so good with the putting, they are neodymium magnets so they are nice and strong. It's just some Rustoleum metallic paint, "aged copper" is the colour along with some semi-gloss black. The black on the bottom of the Fang is just black vinyl, I couldn't be bothered to tape everything off and paint again. For the original 2-ball I was going for the EXO Special Edition look, that putter is just....
  19. I bought a 2017 Callaway Epic Sub-Zero because at the golf and travel show this year I absolutely spanked a drive in the simulator, and couldn't stop thinking about it... That, and my ST-190 shaft broke right at the adapter. I bought a new adapter for the ST-190 and now it's 3-wood length. It feels great to swing, lot's of control, but you can tell there is less speed, might be a decent fairway finder.
  20. Been a while since posting last. I just finished painting 2 of my 2-ball putters. One is an original 2001 2-ball, the other is a O-Works 2-Ball fang with the RX insert. I started with the Fang, the insert, like most of them, came out, so I had to epoxy it back in. While I was in there tinkering around I decided I wanted to paint it. After I got the Fang done, I decided to also paint the original. I played around with the Fang, and took the alignment aid off so I could paint. Underneath is actually a pretty nice looking alignment aide shaped kind of like a hammerhead shark, so I used that as some inspiration, and got my wife to use her cricut to cut me out some vinyl teeth. Then I recessed some magnets into the plastic alignment aid so I can add or remove the 2-ball alignment on a whim, and use that or the "hammerhead" alignment. Pretty happy with the turn out.
  21. Played a nice Stanley Thompson designed local 9-hole with my buddy yesterday. Chipping wasn't great, putting was atrocious... but my driver... it came to play! I sky'd the first drive on the first hole, but after that, I hit every fairway of every driver hole, and I hit 2 of the best drives I've ever hit in my entire golfing lifetime. The single plane swing seems to work wonders for my driver, and yesterday was just more evidence to me that I need to keep implementing that technique.
  22. Yeah Adams bought YES! back in 2011 https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/adams-golf-buys-yes-putters-auction/ I guess TaylorMade has been sitting on their technology too but hasn't done anything with it.. that I know of anyway.
