  1. I admit it, I have a problem... this poor bastard has more vinyl wrap than a civic at a Thursday night car meet in a Costco parking lot... To answer your questions, no it doesn't seem to affect the roll of the ball, and yes the feel is almost the exact same. It has a slightly more muted sound on soft putts, but anything more than 5ft it sounds and feels the same. I dunno... I like it...
  2. I almost pulled the trigger, but after shipping and converting to $CAD it brings it to roughly $150. That's still a stellar deal, they are on sale at Golftown for $229, but it's just not enough for me to commit. Plus, I like my 60º, so this would just be to play around with. High five on the sweet find though 🫸🫷
  3. Nice, I've never heard of this brand. I assume you got it from Amazon? I search on there all the time for golf stuff just for fun or out of boredom while working, and I've never come across this brand. The review are all fairly positive, but a lot of them talk about how big this bag is, is it really that much bigger than a normal cart bag?
  4. I got this organizer with one 2 of those glove keepers for Christmas. I'm going to give them a try. I'm bad for tossing a sweaty glove all mashed up into a pocket, then having to deal with a hard crunchy glove that's mashed up in a ball my next round.
  5. Haven't played a round yet this year, but I had my first shift at a new course I will be working at this year. Pheasant Run is a 27 hole course with a driving range close to where I recently moved, and I'll be working weekend mornings so that I can enjoy golf this summer without breaking the bank. I did the same thing the last 2 summers at another course, but that was a private 18 hole, and no range, so it was harder to get on to play, plus it's now further away since I've moved. Pheasant is incredibly hilly, there's not a tee-box there that isn't at least 30-40ft above the fairway, plus a lot of articulation and elevation changes. It's right up my alley, I love a course with a lot of "character" to it. I had my first shift this passed Sunday, and took this picture from the back tee-box on one of the holes. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the guy with the backpack blower, his head is about 5ft below the bottom of my feet, and he's still about 8ft above the next tee-box down in front of him. The fairway is probably 40-50ft below the back tee, and that's just 1 example. I can't wait to play it this year.
  6. Added some carbon wrap to the Fang alignment plate. Looks nicer than the dull black plastic, and now it matches the carbon on my original 2-ball
  7. Brag away, I'm a proud cheapskate and love good deals. I got a set of 4 headcovers off of Ali Express for $33 CAD, and was blown away by the quality for the price. They look and feel really nice, but when you factor in the price, they're unbeatable.
  8. Thanks, so far so good with the putting, they are neodymium magnets so they are nice and strong. It's just some Rustoleum metallic paint, "aged copper" is the colour along with some semi-gloss black. The black on the bottom of the Fang is just black vinyl, I couldn't be bothered to tape everything off and paint again. For the original 2-ball I was going for the EXO Special Edition look, that putter is just....
  9. I bought a 2017 Callaway Epic Sub-Zero because at the golf and travel show this year I absolutely spanked a drive in the simulator, and couldn't stop thinking about it... That, and my ST-190 shaft broke right at the adapter. I bought a new adapter for the ST-190 and now it's 3-wood length. It feels great to swing, lot's of control, but you can tell there is less speed, might be a decent fairway finder.
  10. Been a while since posting last. I just finished painting 2 of my 2-ball putters. One is an original 2001 2-ball, the other is a O-Works 2-Ball fang with the RX insert. I started with the Fang, the insert, like most of them, came out, so I had to epoxy it back in. While I was in there tinkering around I decided I wanted to paint it. After I got the Fang done, I decided to also paint the original. I played around with the Fang, and took the alignment aid off so I could paint. Underneath is actually a pretty nice looking alignment aide shaped kind of like a hammerhead shark, so I used that as some inspiration, and got my wife to use her cricut to cut me out some vinyl teeth. Then I recessed some magnets into the plastic alignment aid so I can add or remove the 2-ball alignment on a whim, and use that or the "hammerhead" alignment. Pretty happy with the turn out.
  11. Played a nice Stanley Thompson designed local 9-hole with my buddy yesterday. Chipping wasn't great, putting was atrocious... but my driver... it came to play! I sky'd the first drive on the first hole, but after that, I hit every fairway of every driver hole, and I hit 2 of the best drives I've ever hit in my entire golfing lifetime. The single plane swing seems to work wonders for my driver, and yesterday was just more evidence to me that I need to keep implementing that technique.
  12. Yeah Adams bought YES! back in 2011 https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/adams-golf-buys-yes-putters-auction/ I guess TaylorMade has been sitting on their technology too but hasn't done anything with it.. that I know of anyway.
  13. Yeah I'm worried this was more of a boardroom decision than one of passion.. But, it still gives me something to pay attention to, and hopefully, look forward to. I am pretty excited to see if any reviews come out from some of the bigger YouTubers I follow. So far I just found 1 review from a smaller channel, and they seem pretty good.
  14. So my head just exploded... https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/adams-idea-a-revitalized-new-lineup/ As a huge Adams golf fan, needless to say, this makes me gitty! Hopefully this is the start of a rebirth, not a re-brand, and they go back to making some gems. The initial offering looks pretty good, the driver gives me Paradym vibes from the crown, not sure if I like that or not yet. I'll take any excuse to talk about Adams, so I figured why not spark up a conversation.
  15. Yeah it works out to $501 CAD if I order it... Did I mention I'm a cheap S.O.B?
  16. Thanks. Amazon has one for $500 that I am so tempted to pull the trigger on, but I just keep thinking how much golf that would pay for... I'm keeping my eyes peeled
  17. I haven't purchased one yet, but I am on the hunt for a C-130 stand bag, BUT..... it MUST be the sand camo.... I am obsessed with the way that pattern looks on a golf bag. Either the C-130 cart or stand bag, Ping Hoofer or Traverse, or even the Bridgestone Tour B stand bag. I can't find the C-130 for anything under $500, and I am one cheap S.O,B, so the hunt continues.. for now!
  18. Honestly, setup is KEY I find with the SPS. This tip from Todd Graves about isolating the arm by extending your rotational range of motion before gripping the club was a really big key for me to get into proper position. I recommend checking out his channel(s), he has a TON of great info.
  19. I played my first round of the year yesterday on a small local 18 hole. It's a VERY tight course, 30 yard fairways are the big holes, some are as narrow as 15 yards. When you hear "FORE!", you duck, no matter how far away or in which direction you hear it.. But it's a great course to dial in accuracy, and there are a bunch of short reachable par 4 holes which makes it fun. I tried out the single plane swing on all my tee shots that called for a driver and..... wow..... WOW!! I didn't hit every fairway, but I hit almost every shot dead straight... I did almost top a ball, and one hole I still managed to fade it out to the other fairway, but in a much more controllable way, not a big nasty slice. I had a tendency to pull the ball left a bit, I think because the setup calls for you to place the club much further back from the ball at address than normal, I still need to work out some quirks and positioning, I might have too strong of a grip for the setup, but the ball always flew straight. I am happy to say that I haven't lost any distance either, even if it feels like I'm using less effort. One hole is a 275 yard par 4, the green is elevated about 5 -10 yards, so it plays more like 285, and I still hit the green, even with a toe strike... the ball stayed straight, high trajectory, soft landing... a thing of beauty... I almost cried... I really hope it's not a fluke, and the odds of me hitting so many shots straight tells me it's not, because I really like the confidence I have.
  20. I FINALLY got to hit the range for the first time this year. I've been on a big Moe Norman kick lately, and I've been watching a lot of videos about the single plane swing from Todd Graves (lil Moe). It feels awkward with irons, like any swing change usually does, however, with the driver, it felt very natural. Normally when I hit my driver at the range, too much ego slips in, and I start trying to hammer the living p!ss out of it, which usually translates into less than ideal shots, snap hooks, big slices, etc.. Using the SPS method with my driver.... I've never, ever, ever, hit it so consistently (on the range)... EVER... It feels like I'm using less power, but generating as much distance as I normally would, which is part of the idea of the SPS, it's a much more efficient swing (apparently). I also hit it all over the face, high, low, heel, toe... almost every ball went dead straight... I FEEL like I'm really onto something, but I've had that feeling so many times, and then just get my hopes destroyed when trying to put it into practice, lol. I can't wait for my first round so I can try it out and see where it goes.
  21. I couple of old Wii Fit boards They are the perfect height for the mat I made.
  22. Relegated to another basement chipping session until the ranges and courses open up around here.
  23. I'm guessing somewhere between London and Windsor? lol
