  1. Congratulations testers! Put them in your bag, don’t check the forecast, and head straight to the course….come what may
  2. Nice to see a lot of others have “substantial” lists! Mine is pretty uneventful as far as variety. Tried to curb my golf equipment expenditures this year Driver: Ping, Cobra Woods/hybrid: Ping, Tour Edge, Cobra Irons: Srixon Wedges: Cleveland Putter: Ping Balls: Callaway, Titleist, Srixon Shoes: Adidas, NewBalance, Nike Bag: Sun Mountain Gloves: FootJoy
  3. I play a single 3h that gaps my 5w and 5i. For me it’s all about the forgiveness. I used to play a 4h instead of my 5i but my swing has improved a bit since then and I became more comfortable with the 5i. Plus I did not have a great punch out club when I was using the 4h. I sometimes end up with distances that are a little tricky without a 4 but what I loose there I pick up in versatility with the 5i. Never really have given driving irons a chance. Just never had the confidence that I was going to hit them well.
  4. Awesome opportunity for you guys! Looking forward to see if anything you all discover transfers to my in home set up. Enjoy!
  5. Srixon z585 5-A Cleveland CBX2 52, CBX 56 Got a great deal on the irons used when I was getting back into golf regularly. They grew with me as I relearned the game over the past 4 years. Forgiveness is the name of the game as far as the reason to play the wedges. I got fitted into the 21 Taylormade P790, but price has always been a big hindrance in allowing myself to bite. Buuuut now that the 23 came out a little price drop on the 21 may just change my mind
  6. Take it from someone who took about 8 years off from regular play due to “life”, you will eventually find the time to play consistently again. I agree that holding on to the clubs in hand is the best option. You can use them during this irregular playing time and if/when you are able to get back into the game regularly then you can look to purchasing a more appropriate set to fit you at that time. Most important is to realize that your game will not be its best during this time and no GI will make it any better. Just enjoy being out whenever you are able.
  7. Plastic. Prefer the durability and can’t stand the paint swapping on my driver when using wooden. And due to them not being biodegradable I think it makes me a little more self conscious of picking up broken tees and disposing of them properly rather than letting them lay. I have a superintendent buddy who can’t stand broken tees. I prefer the Pride PTS tees and have never had any issues with marks on my clubs.
  8. Congratulations to you and to all the forum staff. A leader is not someone who makes people do things, a true leader inspires people to do things. From what I have seen in only a month as a member you all are a great team, and that starts from the top. Good luck in all your future endeavors and thank you for your dedication to growing this wonderfully frustrating game!
  9. Can’t say that I fully support this comment. Even minor improvements can increase one’s enjoyment of the game and make one feel better about themselves as a player. Ultimately that is all us amateurs are looking for. The best advice I have received actually came from this forum. How I play on the course doesn’t affect my life off the course. It doesn’t increase or decrease the love I give or receive from my family and friends. It doesn’t affect my job or ability to provide for my family. I am not, nor ever will be a pro, so trying to hold myself up to the standards that are seen on the TV weekly is only going to bring frustration and disappointment in my game. I agree that instruction from a professional coach is the best way to improve if you are interested in total game improvement. However, if you are a weekend hacker just looking to make yourself feel better about your game then relish the small improvements. Celebrate a round with no triple bogeys. Reflect on those couple great shots you had. Allow yourself to build on the small positives rather than tearing down your game from the negatives. If there is a specific area of your game that is really bothering you then focus only on that area for the time being. Bogging yourself down with to many swing corrections, ball positions, club changes, etc, etc, etc, will only breed more frustration. I fully believe that increased game enjoyment leads to game improvement.
  10. Reiterate a lot that was already said on here….need to hit them to get an idea which is best. I have too many buddies that simply buy off rack and end up disappointed with their purchases. Clubs truly have become an investment. I pretty much view them like a car….a test drive is always a must. Head to your local Dick’s or Golf Galaxy and give them a workout. Or you can utilize the Utry program via Global. A fitting will give you the best information but price is sometimes a limiter with those.
  11. I have been playing a PING Heppler Anser 2 since 2020. Love it! Have had no real desire to change. Did a whole bag fitting this last winter which included the putter. It was reassuring seeing how well it still performed on the machine. Made a small 1 degree bend tweak to keep the ball down off the face more but I have yet to find a reason to update.
  12. Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing how it performs.
  13. Definitely! I prefer colored towels as opposed to white myself. I am not the best at changing out/cleaning mine on a regular basis so anything that hides my laziness is appreciated.
  14. Still in my infancy as a member to the forums but I am really enjoying the wealth of information and advice that is available. I can’t honesty say I have ever been satisfied with my game…always thinking I need to get better to truly start enjoying the game. But reading a lot of the posts on here has already started to make me feel better about my game, and has shown me that I am not alone with a lot of the frustrations I have. It has really helped ground me and has already started to change my mindset to enjoy the game more.
