  1. Lee Trevino famously once said “Ever notice how well you do with a new putter…then after a while not so good? That’s because it’s getting to know you!” right now I’m gaming a LAB Mezz Max Broomstick…so far great results…but who knows…it may get to know me as well!
  2. I play Titelist AVX Yellow balls. I’ve bought them several times from LostGolfBalls.com and only the Pristine level and always wait for a coupon. I also have received them as a gift and I find them equal to the new ones in every way. If one finds the water or the woods I blame me…not the ball. I just bought a 48 ball bucket for $125.00…free shipping no less…so they work for me.
  3. I’m currently gaming a Gen 5 Driver and it’s very forgiving…but I was never a fan of the sound. I just ordered a Black Ops hoping all the reviews are accurate plus I’m lucky to get Hero’s pricing which knocked $150.00 off
  4. I think length of the broomstick depends on your height…48” or 50” is probably good if you are over 6’2” and up. I’m 5’10” and mine is 42.5”. Also grip is key be it pencil, cigar, saw, whatever works. It works for me…and in no way do I anchor. Check out Eric Congero’s video on You Tube. Plus I find my lag putting to be excellent.
  5. PRO V1 all day and everyday! bought 4 dz. Used mint from Used golf balls and they play great…tried a bunch of lower compression balls due to my old guy swing speed…but they didn’t impress and were a lot shorter…and really didn’t have that crispy feel to me…so I’m committed to ol’reliable.
  6. I understand the negative feedback on Parsons..he does have an obnoxious tone…but the guy has an incredible story of success and is a proud Vietnam Vet Marine…who is very loyal to Veterans and First Responders. I met the PXG rep while working the range at an LPGA event here in NJ…he told me sat 2 desks away from him when Parsons first started PXG and had to listen to him all day…said it was a trip…but the guy has a heart of gold who’s mission is to make the best Golf equipment…period! to me my decision wasn’t based on the company owner but the product they produce…and after my fitting I realized just how good the product really was. I had recoil shafts in my first set of PXG irons…wasn’t fit for them, but was amazed after trying at least 6 different shafts the Cypher shafts were the best for me…Recoils are an excellent shaft but I gained 9 yds with the Cypher…same swing speed same smash factor…that’s why to me a fitting is so important. PS…I have a good friend who lives at The Villages…loves it there…but the dummy doesn’t play Golf…go figure!
  7. I have become a firm believer that with today’s game and technology being fit for your clubs is a must. We used to have 3 options when buying off the shelf clubs R,S, and A shafts. I played Wilson Staff muscleback blades for years with dynamic gold S shafts…and they served me well in my younger years. Then around 40 and not having the time to play as much raising a family I moved over to Ping to try and help with forgiveness, however I missed the butter feel of my forged irons. The distance I gained however kept me there. As I moved into my mid 50’s I realized that I was losing swing speed and distance due to physical limitations due to a bad back..so it all came down to finding clubs that could help me recover lost yardage and several sets and years later I finally went for a fitting with PXG and after a tremendous experience of testing various shafts I found a setup that worked very well for where my game is at presently. I know many don’t care for Bob Parsons but his product is first class and luckily I qualify for his Hero’s pricing. I finally found an iron that gives me that buttery feel, good look at setup, and performance I was hoping to find again. So for me I’m a PXG fan I really believe they are in a class above.
  8. My PW and GW are PXG 0311 Gen 5 my 56 and 60 are Ping MB…have had them several years now and they just seem to fit my game perfectly…
