  1. Good morning everyone! Sunny here today in Ohio - was chilly last night for the league. Been doing better but for some reason my right hand has started hurting and my fingers are swollen in the morning. Painful. Hoping it goes away. Having trouble really gripping stuff. Today is National Take a Chance Day (amongst other days) like National Talk Like Shakespeare Day. So, whilst out on green spans of grief, thy should taketh a stronger iron to vanquish the distance spawned. Be forthright in plan and daring in deed on this day of glory. Fear not that which quenches, for a wooden 5 shall carry such meandering hazards and bring forth pleasurable pitches. - in other words, go for it. Have a wonderful week all! Cheers!
  2. You may want to consider a wall mount opener. It mounts by the door and would leave the garage open for your swing path. No sense in always worrying about cracking the club against it.
  3. Good morning spies! Finally got a bit of a breather to try and catch up. It’s like if I miss a day or so, reading Moby Dick all over again just to catch up (death by a 1000 posts). Happy Birthday @GolfSpy SAM! Hope you get whatever shiny new golf thingy you are wanting Weather is good here today but no golf. Still VERY wet. Monday was the first day of a new golf league for me on a course I had not played in many years. Didn’t remember any of it. Course is not in great shape. Bunkers full of water, really soft ground and ruts. Lost a ball in the fairway. It plugged so deep, couldn’t find it in the standing water. In any case, the AI One Milled putter that I tested last year did its job well. I averaged 1.8 putts per hole. Dropped one in the jar from 22 feet on a par 3 for birdie. I would never have thought that putter would be so much better than my old standby. Who knew?! @GolfSpy_APH I like the newsletter format and content. It amazes me how much better MGS has improved over just this past year. Not that it was bad, it’s just continually getting better IMHO. I (we) all appreciate the effort and time it takes for the staff to do this for us. Thank you. I have to get back to work now (ugh) - Have a wonderful day all! Cheers!
  4. Good afternoon spies! It’s Monday - has been at least… today here is actually really nice. Sunny and high 70s and…..drum roll….. I start my golf league tonight at 5pm! So, grand day to start hacking my way about the course. I have been working diligently on my swing (affectionately called the “Flail” by those who have seen it). The first time I participated in an outing this year a young fellow tried to give me CPR after seeing my swing. Impressive, I know…. I told him. Besides being tax day (yuck) it is also National Titanic Remembrance Day - here’s hoping my first game of the league doesn’t resemble that event. Have a great day all! Cheers!
  5. Good Friday Morning Spies! Whew… glad it is the last day of the work week. My new position has taken a toll on my available free time. I feel like I barely have any time to scan the forum or read articles these days. It will get better, just hectic right now. Haven’t been on a community call in a couple of weeks either. I also saw the AI Smoke Driver Testing! Wow! MGS is really setting the bar with great opportunities for the community! Hats off to the MGS crew for the continued hard work and effort to bring these to the community . I did try out the AI Smoke driver when it came out. Minimal improvement over what I am currently using so I couldn’t justify the price point. Hoping to see some great reviews getting posted! I had the Masters on while working but honestly, only got to catch a few nuggets here and there. Will be watching throughout the day today (a little break to actually try and get caught up). I have a gig tomorrow night so that will be fun to get out and play with my mates. And, it is at a golf course! I might have to play 9 in the morning… Today is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day and National Licorice Day! It is also a few other things today but I always try to zero in on the food. It’s a priority of mine. Have a wonderful weekend all! Cheers!
  6. Morning and Happy Masters Week! Today is also…. National Eight Track Tape Day and Cheese Fondue Day! My day is now complete….. I will stuff myself on bread and liquid cheese while jamming a matchbook under the 8 track so I can listen to my old Jethro Tull tracks all while watching the golf unfold. Glorious! I better break out another 8 pack of TP as well. Have a wonderful day everyone! Cheers!
  7. Good pre-eclipse afternoon spies! I happen to be in the path of totality (which I think means I am one of the first to die during the apocalypse), so we will be gazing at the sun (with protective glasses) for the whole 3 minutes. I can’t wait. All of the planets should be visible around the eclipsed sun. They literally are all right in the area. Today is also National Empanada Day! So grab a couple before or during a round. Then don’t forget to stop at the turn to relieve some pressure…. Have a great week everyone! Cheers!
  8. I thought there were great Italian burritos in NY…I think they refer to them as calzones
  9. Good Morning All! Happy Thursday (pre-Friday). Terrible weather here the past several days and today…..it is snowing….. yuck I haven’t been on in a bit because my new job has consumed all of my time, even into the evenings. Another week of this and I should be able to come up for air. Today is National Burrito Day and Jeep 4x4 Day so….. jump in the Jeep and go have a nice fat burrito today for lunch! Hope everyone has a splendid day! Cheers!
  10. Good luck on the new job sir! I too will be starting a new position today (same company just more stuff to do). Have a wonderful week!
  11. Thanks everyone! Happy Birthday to my other bogie bros in here too! Going to make an old fashioned and have some lemon cake later.
  12. Morning (afternoon) Spies! Happy Good Friday to you all! @MattWillGolf Sorry to hear about that pup and your wife/you. Sometimes that happens and no real reason why. Hoping for a quick recovery. Busy day today even though the weather is perfect for a round of golf Today is also National Vietnam War Veterans Day, so if you know someone who served, please take a moment and thank them. They will appreciate it. Have a great weekend all! Cheers!
  13. Good morning everyone! Had a good day off yesterday with the grandkids and my daughters. Was 70 degrees and sunny. Golf would have been awesome but had a good time as it was. This week will be decent but I will not be able to get at it for a bit. Between prepping the yard equipment and work duty changes, I will be locked in during the week. Hopefully this weekend if the weather permits. Still need to buy another car for Mrs. ZoonORama so may have to spend some time this weekend on that as well. Hope everyone who is suffering ills and pains feels better. Lately seems like a lot of us are struggling. Just know we are all pulling for each other. Really appreciate this platform and community for that. Thank you MGS! Today is National Spinach Day! - so embrace your inner Popeye and pop a can o’spinach…. uh, sku ga ga ga ga….. Hope everyone has a good week and for those that CAN play, we hope you have a grand time! Cheers!
  14. I agree with previous comments. Don’t just suck it up and buy something. There are plenty of courses where you could try them out on the green. I was VERY skeptical about the AI One Milled putter until I tested one for MGS. I am truly a believer now! The key is to find one that sets up for you naturally and gives you confident putts. For me it was the SIX T DB. My first ever mallet style putter. Take your time and make a good choice.
  15. Good (late morning) spies! Weather today is COLD but…. I have an outing to go play in so…. I am going to “try” and have a good time. 37 at tee-off (1:30pm feels like 27 according to accuweather). Hope everyone has a great day and weekend! Cheers!
