  1. I prefer an hour ahead so I can warm up & hit a bucket, then putt for about 10 minutes to gauge the speed so I can blow it 12' past the hole more consistently. This usually gives me a couple minutes to hit the bathroom and maybe grab a beer or two at the counter then (most importantly) prep a wet towel for my bag. If I show up closer to tee time I will normally skip putting and then drain everything within 25'. I also have to have my bag and pockets ready to go - tee's in the right pocket, marker and divot tool in the left, glove in the back left pocket, balls out and marked, and the speaker queued with the playlist of the day (which is normally super angry 90's and 00's gangsta rap - at a tasteful volume, of course). My large bucket warm up consists of my 54*, PW, and then either odd or evens to the top (it varies randomly), 2i, 3W, then driver. I normally hit about 5-6 of each and see which way the ball is moving. I usually try to save about 8-10 for the driver to end on.
  2. Today's Workout: FFG Week 2/12 - Velocity C - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/15085184946 Great workout today, I was challenged on multiple exercises. I like the program thus far and we'll see what speed gains are made! Weight: 189.2 Yesterday's Calories In: 2,327 Yesterday's Calories Out: 2,931 The wife told me to pick up some steak to grill last night on my way home from work, and the dude at the meat counter hooked it up with some fabulously marbled sirloin. I apparently "overcooked" it to a slight shade beyond medium and my kids let me hear about it. I pulled it off the grill when it hit 145, but I guess I didn't slice it fast enough and the carry-over cooking made it unpalatable to them. IDGAF because I ate 21 oz of sirloin last night and I slept like a f'ing rock. I'm also kinda proud of my kids for being steak snobs and complaining of just-barely mid-well meat.
  3. Try doing a forced update of the R10 - you might have to unpair it and factory reset to have the latest software reloaded. My assumption is that there is something in the software that is messing with the readings. I haven't delved into my R10 numbers recently, but I know that I have had problems with numbers all over the place as well. A couple of things to check related to radar wave reflection - do you have any metal appliances with flat surfaces in the vicinity? If so, throw a blanket it over it to help break up the reflection. - Is the R10 placed on a concrete surface? If so cover the concrete with a blanket for the same reason. Most of my problems have come from interference related to wave reflection off of adjacent items or the floor, and this will normally resolve it. Also, are you using a different head and shaft than normal? The R10 does pick those up, and will "see" those differently. Try putting a few dots of aluminum reflective HVAC tape on the head at different points to help the unit pick it up. RCT balls also make a huge different, namely with spin numbers.
  4. Happy Birthday! My wife also does the birthday miles - I just wait for her to finish with a beverage in hand. It works out ok for me. Nice work though!
  5. Amana is actually my favorite course in the area - I only get out there a few times a year for scramble events as it's kinda out of the way for me. But I'd love to meet up at Finkbine sometime!
  6. Today's Workout - Pull less deadlifts (because I did them yesterday with FFG): https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/15069119064 Weight: 188.2 Yesterday's Calories In: 1,846 Yesterday's Calories Out: 3,785 FFG was a pretty high expenditure of energy yesterday, coupled with a 7U baseball scrimmage & practice where I am constantly running around trying to keep the little sh*ts from wrestling each other. I should have slept better than I did last night, but didn't for some reason. Either way, I still got in a good back and bicep pump today. Weight is still trending downward, which is great.
  7. Where do you normally play at? I live in Marion right next to Hunter's Ridge and work down in Iowa City - I split my time pretty evenly between Finkbine and HR.
  8. My piriformis acts up and and will cause sciatic nerve pain. I've found that a foam roller (either a barrel or lacrosse ball) in the figure 4 a couple times per week keeps me loose enough to prevent flare ups. Find the painful spot and lean into it!
  9. I currently game the MD5 Jaws 50* - I picked it up last year for those 100 - 115 yard shots between my PW and 54*. I only use it for full shots, my 54* is my magic wand for everything 95 and in unless I need to get vertical in a hurry. Just like @GolfSpy MPR said, start out with "what do I want "X" club to do" and work backwards from there. I was in that boat last year of needing a club for the shot between my set PW and my 54 and found the MD5 50* to be the answer to that question.
  10. Good Wednesday morning! Workout logged and in the books, coffee made, and a full day of paperwork and bids slated. I hope everyone has a productive day - go get some and make it great!
  11. Enjoy Florida! Where abouts are you heading down to?
  12. I regripped all of mine last week, less the putter. New grip day is a great day! https://store.golfpride.com/store/grips/prod611051/cp2-wrap
  13. FFG Week 2/12 Velocity B - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/15053482055 I'll tell you what; the "Group B" workout is the heavy day of the program, and today was close to being a total ass-kicker. 1/4 squats felt really heavy today (they were more like 1/3 squats), deadlifts were a bear, incline bench was heavy. My shirt was soaked. Great workout today - slamming down 77g of protein for breakfast to help with the recovery. Today's Weight: 188.0 Yesterday's In: 1,461 Yesterday's Out: 2,786 Getting closer to the intermediate goal - hoping to get there in two weeks.
