  1. I'm a big fan of this Phil Mickelson series called Secrets of the Short Game. Lots of great short game instruction, from long and short pitches, chip shots, bunkers, putting, and playing difficult turf conditions and lies near the green. I think that consistently following his advice on set up and stroke fundamentals helped my short game a lot a few years ago. Started saving a LOT more pars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhzY7TIMnMU&list=PLPC2xk2dt2cKUVehHVytOlkS5K998abw5&index=8&pp=gAQBiAQB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBv_OA8ZE3A&list=PLPC2xk2dt2cKUVehHVytOlkS5K998abw5&index=9&pp=gAQBiAQB
  2. I sometimes just put an earbud in one ear, so I can still converse with my foursome, and be aware of harm heading my way from other fairways.
  3. Thanks for your comment. I think I tried about 6 iron heads across various Titleist, TM and Srixon brands, and about 4 different graphite shaft brands. I hit about 90 balls with my 7 iron in the fitting. The data does not lie when its not the right fit.
  4. I am making the switch to graphite now too. My iron heads have been breaking off lately (metal fatigue?). Might have about 700 rounds on them. I just had a fitting and will be going with Srixon 5 Mk II irons (6 thru AW) with Fujikura Vista Pro 60 R shafts. The shot data summary shows the 2 I narrowed down to are close to my current Callaway Apex CF16 irons. The fitter also recommended I try Prov1x balls to get a slightly higher spin rate. The graphite shafts feel great. Same performance with less effort.
  5. I keep mine on for each game, but I open the velcro fastener for putting, as I find it increases the feel of the putter head during the putting stroke.
  6. Date 11/14/2023 Course Name Olympic View, Victoria, BC Gross Score 72 Course Handicap 0 Gross Strokes over/under par 0 Net Score to Par 0 Net Score 72 Net Birdies or better 0 Longest Drive 245 Coolish, sunny day, high around 50. Course wet from recent rains. Greens were also slow at about 8.5 vs 10.4 standard. Lots of boring pars and some birdie chances left short. https://www.olympicviewgolf.com/
  7. Yes they often have covered decks and open grass range areas. Different coloured baskets differentiate who paid for what.
  8. This is common in Aus. Up to $5 extra to use grass tees and short game area. Esp for range only locations with no golf course.
