  1. Many thanks for the tips- Just did them this morning. Yes to hard floors- moving blankets to the rescue! Yes to appliances (suspended furnace) moving blankets , check Factory reset is next As I need good data for the Autoflex Dream 7 testing that should arrive next week, I need to resolve the issues ASAP. Updates after I've run through these fixes.
  2. Snow is gone ,curling is still on and golf courses are all finally starting to open around Ottawa. Yep, must be end of April , eh!
  3. I'll be going to my local fitter here in Ottawa- GolfTown to get it measured, cut and gripped ( I went with the no-grip option as I use GolfPride CP2 Jumbo with 4 + 1 wraps- and it wasn't an option direct from supplier). Swing weight is listed as D0, will be interesting to see how a) close we get and b) if I'll notice a difference with my own shafts- I honestly don't know what their swing weight is- that will also be part of my data for my review.
  4. As I didn't want my playing partner to lose me on the course, I went with the orange 405x It is not subtle in it's colour! My shipping notice also came in- I swear all the testers were jumping for joy when the first notice was mentioned. Mine should arrive next Friday, assuming no hiccups at the border.
  5. I've been hitting indoors at the home sim with the Qi10 Max and the Tensei AV Blue Limited 60R and the C6 Blue 60S... and my launch monitor is not playing nice (or is being brutally honest and I am really , really bad at driving!). Data below. Launch angle, backspin and distances are truly bad. This is not doing wonders for my self-esteem, but that's the data I have to work with. Have RCT balls on order to see if the spin #'s get back in line with my mid 2000 average and helps with the distances. The head continues to hold up very well and I am looking forward to going out on the golf course to play on real grass! Courses are starting to open here in Ottawa, but it's still in the single digits in Celsius...that's a little too chilly for me still ! EDIT NOTE: the light purple/lilac is mis-labeled. It should read: Tensei with TP5 (NOT TP5x)
  6. Currently calibrating the home sim setup in preparation for the Autoflex Dream 7 shaft review and running into some weird data points with the R10. Spin, carry, total , launch and descent angles have always been very close to what I am seeing on the ION/Full Swing commercial sim I play on all winter. Last night, my numbers were just "off". WAAAAY off. Distance is down 70-80yds, spin is increased by 1000 or more RPM. Club head speed and ball speed are down beyond statistical anomalies... I ran through the calibration through the Garmin Golf App after the first 8 shots. No change. To compare, my Qi10Max w/C6 Blue 60S is usually a 250-260yd carry with a 270-275 total (on the ION/Full Swing) and also within that range on the course. My results are below. My tee is 10' from the screen with the R10 7' behind the tee. I have a laser alignment caddie that I use and the R10 is level and directly behind the tee. Using a 2024 TM TP5x ( I don't currently own any RCT balls... that will be something I will look at after work.) Running the R10 direct to the Garmin App , numbers were abysmal as well. Data attached is R10 directly connected to GSPro (not through the app, then E6 Connect to GSPro)... Any ideas?
  7. Good morning all! Beautiful, sunny day in Ottawa... and -4C with frost everywhere But golfing weather is just around the corner ... 21C and up starting this weekend! There's hope!!!!
  8. Good ( very late) morning one and all! It's been a busy week and it's only Wednesday Solved my projector issue (self-inflicted issue, to be fair) and now have the simulator fully ready. Hit some balls to calibrate the system and data is flowing just fine! Yay!
  9. Congratulations to all the testers. Looking forward to reading your reviews on this one!
  10. Thanks all... it's a huge privilege to be chosen and to be given this responsibility. I can tell you that all the testers (myself included ) are VERY excited about this one. I am really looking forward to putting this shaft on my Qi10 Max and comparing it to the 2 current shafts I have: Tensei AV Limited Blue 60R and C6 Blue 60S. The simulator is now fully setup , calibrated and ready for some baseline data starting tomorrow Thanks for all the helpful hints and tips everyone. Did I mention that I am really excited to be testing this shaft ???
  11. Thanks Tom! Will be going over the video and playing with the setup later when I'm back from the office.
  12. Good morning all, Day 3 of figuring out the projector location for the simulator. Sigh. Speaking with Optoma customer support yesterday, they stated I will need to move the lens of the projector back another 7” and I can also have lateral deviation of up to 26” and still be able to correct the image to fill my 96’ H x 108” W screen without being in the way of my driver swing. I will be trying that out later this coming week when my best friend and ladder-guru is available…BUT we are going to figure out a way to put the projector in the right spot and TEST the keystone correction before drilling more holes in the ceiling. For anyone thinking of putting up a simulator/projector, measure 5 times, test 10 times, drill once!!! The end result will 100% be worth it, but the growing pains can be a little daunting sometimes. Especially when they are self-inflicted! The simulator is usable in it’s current state (I’m about to go warm up for my 2nd to last round at a commercial simulator with best friend), I just have a 24” band at the bottom of the screen that has no image and I am unable to correct for it. Functional but not pretty! Have a fantastic Sunday everyone! Jean
  13. Ok…so that didn’t go as expected. I moved the projector to 6’ 11” to 7’ 1” from the screen as per the manufacturer’s website and validated by Carl’s and Projector Central’s own throw calculators…and I can’t cover my 96” tall x 108” wide screen. Projector is mounted just below the lip of the enclosure ( to not clip the image) and I’ve got a 24” band at the bottom I simply can’t fill, no matter how I orient the projector or play with the various settings...I’ve played with digital zoom, digital correction…nada. Anyone else happen to be using an Optoma GT2100HDR projector that could share some insights please? Any/all help greatly appreciated!
  14. Good morning all! Cool and over-cast in Ottawa today… perfect day to move the projector in the home sim so I can do a full driver swing without fear of smashing the projector… OOOOOOPS, my bad for eyeballing the distance without actually measuring. Continued prep after for my first on-course round of the season next week at the Marshes course here in Ottawa. Hole 5 is a par 5, 615 yd water monster… what could go wrong? LOL.
