    I've never tried this method... but I do find it really intriguing.
    best thing I ever did for 2 - 6' putts is the old "2 TEE" drill... Literally put 2 tee's in the ground. put the leading edge of your ball even with the tees and hit your short putts. If you can strike both tees with the putter face squarely, you should start the ball online. It also helps to put a tee about 4-8" behind the putter to keep the back stroke short... if you hit the tee, your stroke is too long.

    FYI... as far as I know, the stroke is legal.... as long as there is separation between the putter and the ball before the putter moves forward.
